For almost a century, the Disney Princesses have stood as charming and wholesome representatives of the House of Mouse. Beautiful, elegant, and inspiring, the Princesses have evolved over time, becoming more modern and in touch with current sensibilities. Long gone are the helpless, almost mute princesses of yore. Today, these girls are braver, and fiercer, than most princes.

If the Disney Princesses were to compete in the Hunger Games, the competition would surely be less savage and violent. They would certainly fight to win, but they would go into the Games with a less animalistic approach. And while the Capitol might not be entirely entertained, they would at least get to experience the Games in a completely new light.

Cinderella

Cinderella

Cinderella is, perhaps, the most iconic of Disney Princesses. Out of her many iterations over the years, her animated incarnation might be the most demure of them all. Cinderella is definitely a courageous young woman. However, she's also extremely kind and sheltered, qualities that do not bode well for her Games success.

Truth is, she wouldn't last very long in the competition. Her amiable persona would prevent her from hurting others, and her delicacy would make it extremely difficult for her to survive the arena's harsh conditions. The first cannon to roar would most definitely be for her.

Jasmine

Like Cinderella, Jasmine is brave and daring, albeit overprotected. The daughter of Agrabah's sultan, she spent most of her life inside her palace walls, which left her unequipped to deal with the Games' cruelty. She would be entirely out of her element in the arena, and while sponsors would shower her with gifts, they wouldn't really give her an advantage, since all the other princesses would receive them too.

She would try her best, but without a magic lamp at her disposal, would ultimately fall at the hands of one of the more fierce, prepared competitors.

Belle

Belle

Highly intelligent and cultured, Belle would no doubt know how to make her way around the arena. She would certainly do a lot of preparation before the Games, reading book after book about survival in the wild. Belle is spirited and would not run away from a fight, especially if it came to defending one of her allies.

However, book-smarts can only take her so far, especially in such a merciless situation as the Games. With the competition growing fiercer and more desperate, she'd have to rely on every single piece of knowledge she ever gathered. Sadly, it wouldn't be enough.

Ariel

Ariel daydreaming in the Little Mermaid

Considering she grew up as a mermaid in the vastness of the sea, Ariel is the least sheltered princess so far. She was free and able to explore the grandness of the ocean, even adventuring into the unknown more than once. Enthusiastic, passionate, and more than a little reckless, Ariel would make it further in the Games than anyone would have previously thought.

However, her own recklessness would eventually be her downfall. Ariel is no sense and all sensibility, meaning she'd be ill-equipped to handle the ruthlessness of the Games. She'd be fine at first, but eventually, the violence would take a toll on her, and she'd cave to the pressure.

Tiana

Far more mature than any of the other princesses, Tiana knows about the harshness of life, and the difficulties of making it to the top. She's no stranger to hard work, and would see the Games as yet another step in her journey. She would approach the whole thing with less sentimentality than others, and would do her greatest effort to win.

She would surely make it to the mid-point of the competition. However, and with fewer tributes left, Tiana would be in serious trouble and she'd most likely become the main target of the other contestants. And considering the remaining princesses are either warriors or all-around athletes, her days in the arena would be numbered.

Rapunzel

More spirited than Belle, but less reckless than Ariel, Rapunzel would be a prime candidate to win the Games. Her radiant personality would make her a hit with audiences and sponsors, and her positive attitude would certainly get her a long way.

But it's her hair that would truly make all the difference. A formidable weapon to trap, confuse, and ultimately finish her opponents, Rapunzel's long mane would make her a dangerous threat for the other tributes. Unfortunately for her, it wouldn't take long before they realized that, without her hair, she basically is helpless. It would only take a knife to cut her golden mane, and Rapunzel's chances of winning the Games would vanish instantly.

Pocahontas

Pocahontas waves goodbye in 1995's Pocahontas

Athletic and strong, Pocahontas has spent her life running, swimming, climbing, and all-around exploring the world. She'd be in her element in the arena. Her long, toned legs would allow her to run faster than anyone, and her survival skills would help her disappear for days even, emerging only when it was necessary.

Still, hiding is no way of winning and Pocahontas would eventually have to enter the game. Tough and capable, she'd land more than a few blows, but she'd eventually be overpowered by the surviving warriors, bringing her participation in the Games to a swift and untimely end.

Moana

Moana

Bold, adventurous, and valiant, Moana would be a dangerous tribute. A daring and skilled explorer, she'd have no problem surviving the arena's ever-changing conditions, and would surely find a way to use them in her favor. Eager but wise, she'd make the best out of every situation, and would reach the semi-finals of the Games.

For all her strengths, Moana is very stubborn and impulsive, qualities that perhaps would make her too confident in her victory. With her guard lowered, and no ocean in sight to aid her, she'd fall prey to the well-aimed arrow of one of the two remaining tributes.

Merida

Merida drawing her bow

Brave and feisty, Merida is basically Disney's equivalent of Katniss Everdeen. Her deathly arrows would strike fear in the hearts of other tributes, and her infallible aim would allow her to shoot from the distance, safely hidden on the top of some tree, or behind tall bushes.

Merida is far more aggressive than most other Disney Princesses, and she'd have no problem getting her hands dirty, and even a little bloody. Still, she lacks maturity, and is perhaps a bit too prideful to make any alliances. She'd probably fight the entire Games on her own, arriving at the final leg far more tired and worn-out than her fiercest competitor. In the final fight between the two, Merida would fall, leaving one victor standing.

Mulan

A trained, disciplined warrior who almost single-handedly defeated the Huns, Mulan would have no problem winning the Hunger Games. She's not only extremely resilient and clever, but she's also loyal, brave, and true. She'd know the importance of alliances, but would also do the things that needed to be done when the time came.

The harshness of her army training and the cruel realities of war prepared her for the merciless Games, meaning she'd go into them with a clearer understanding of the dangers. And despite the worthy foes that crossed her path, she'd eventually bring them down, leaving her as the sole victor of the Hunger Games.
