Disney princes may not always get the same limelight as the princesses, but they are just as important. They're normally among the lead characters within their movies and they are certainly some of the most popular characters from the Disney library.

They are obviously always portrayed as heroes and that helps them to become incredibly popular characters, but when you take a deep dive into their personalities, they are not all as likeable as the others. Some of them have traits that certainly make them less appealing than others, and that is why some characters are more popular than their prince counterparts. But which of the famous Disney princes is the most likeable of the bunch?

Prince Naveen (Princess And The Frog)

Prince Naveen from Princess And The Frog

While Prince Naveen does improve drastically throughout the movie, he starts out incredibly unlikeable. While he might have plenty of charm and charisma, he is also incredibly arrogant and that is a trait that nobody appreciates, including Tiana to start with.

Naveen just believes in his own hype, despite the fact he is running the risk of having no finances. That cockiness does start to disappear once he becomes a frog and learns humility.

The Prince (Snow White)

There just isn't enough known about The Prince to fully judge him as a person. He's not actually in the movie much and he really fills the stereotypical view of a prince swooping in to save a damsel in distress at the last second.

While he no doubt seems kind and caring, The Prince never really showcases much personality, and that makes it very hard for him to become overly likeable. Instead, he ends up just being a forgettable character from this particular movie.

Flynn Rider (Tangled)

In a very similar way to Prince Naveen, Flynn Rider is someone who is very arrogant with both his appearance and his abilities as a thief. His cockiness is something that does make him quite unlikeable early on in the film as he tries his best to take advantage of Rapunzel and the fact she is quite gullible to the real world outside her tower.

He also starts the movie out as a thief, which makes him seem very unlikeable early on as well. While he does make many improvements throughout the film when he sheds away his fake persona, his arrogance is something that does define him.

The Beast (Beauty And The Beast)

The Beast also goes through quite a transformation during the course of his movie, and just in terms of his physical appearance. By the end of the film, he has shown compassion, intelligence, and a softer side to himself which is what makes him such a likeable character.

But he also shows huge aggression, anger problems, and a real lack of patience, which really does counterbalance a lot of his positives. It makes the Beast quite a well-rounded character, but it doesn't make him the most likeable.

Prince Charming (Cinderella)

Prince Charming may not get his personality developed in the same way as other characters on this list, but he is a very likeable person. The fact that he is incredibly determined and relentless in finding Cinderella instantly shows what sort of person he is.

The fact he isn't bothered that she's not the glamorous princess he first met is also another positive sign as well. He's very easy to like and that is certainly a good thing.

Li Shang (Mulan)

Mulan and Li Shang

Li Shang has arguably the greatest Disney prince song of all time with "I'll Make A Man Out Of You," and he is also one of the most likeable princes as well. While Li Shang does start out a little bossy, once he starts to treat his soldiers as equals, he begins to showcase his true personality.

He's a very brave character and a true leader, both of which are qualities that make for a likeable person. But it is his softer side that really impresses most people with his relationship with Mulan building steadily throughout the movie.

John Smith (Pocahontas)

John Smith (like many of the Disney princes) starts out a little pompous and full of attitude, however, that all changes when he meets Pocahontas. He quickly begins to see life from other peoples' perspective and it becomes clear he's not like the rest of his men.

John Smith fights to protect Pocahontas and her people, literally taking a bullet for them, which proves exactly what he is like as a person. He's witty and charming as well which certainly adds to him being a very likeable person.

Prince Phillip (Sleeping Beauty)

Once Upon a Dream

Prince Phillip may not be anywhere near as charismatic as many of the princes on this list, but he certainly is very likeable. Prince Phillip isn't fleshed out in the same manner that many of the other princes are in terms of his own personality, but he certainly proves himself to be a very loyal and dependable which is why he's so well-liked.

Prince Eric (The Little Mermaid)

Prince Eric is a very likeable character and someone who really is a true gentleman. He is incredibly kind to Ariel and shows great patience and understanding, even when she's not able to talk. The fact he sticks by her and tries his best to work out what she means proves what a genuine and kind person he is.

Eric also happily throws himself into danger when Ursula becomes a clear threat. He wastes no time and that level of dedication and bravery is also something that makes him easy to connect with.

Aladdin (Aladdin)

Out of all the Disney princes, Aladdin certainly has the biggest role in his film, mainly because his movie is centered all around him. However, there's a good reason for that, because he's one of the most likeable characters in Disney history, and absolutely has the best likability amongst his fellow princes.

Aladdin knows how to live with nothing, starting the film without a home or any family. It makes him incredibly humble which is a great trait in anybody. Plus, he has a ton of energy and a really fun personality that is full of imagination and creativity, which makes him a blast to watch throughout the film.
