Disney's Investor Day announcements and news provided a lot of excitement and talking points for fans of Star Wars, Marvel, and Disney's classic animated work. One of the big moments that came from the Marvel side of things was the trailer for the upcoming Disney+ series, Loki.

The trailer gave a glimpse and a tease of what is to come in the highly anticipated series that will be featured around the incredibly popular Marvel character. Once again Tom Hiddlestone will be taking on the role, but what did the trailer reveal, and how many questions did it provide about the series?

What We Learned: It Will Pick Up From Avengers: Endgame

Loki Avengers Endgame

One thing that we had confirmed right at the start of this trailer was the fact that Loki will pick up directly from Avengers: Endgame. The mischievous character was part of the major Avengers movie, but he managed to escape the group and wasn't seen again within the film.

However, it turns out, we will now know exactly where Loki goes and what he gets up to, as the film follows his journey as he escapes the group. It's great to see that the series will follow the exact same story and timeline, giving audiences a sense of continuity.

Questions We Have: Why Is He In Stark Tower?

Loki The Avengers Clip

In the original Avengers movie, Loki was the main villain and things all came crashing down for him inside Stark Tower when Hulk famously (and hilariously) bashed him around like a rag doll. However, within the trailer of Loki, he is found back in that exact spot once again.

Will this be a piece of time travel, is it a dream or a nightmare, and most importantly, why is Loki there? There's also a moment where he is sat down, watching footage of The Avengers beating him, which shows that moment is clearly going to have a role to play here.

What We Learned: It Begins In May 2021

While we don't have a specific date within the month, we at least know that Loki will be launching on Disney+ in May of 2021. Previously, all that had been known was that the show would be released in 'Spring' but now that timeframe has been narrowed down even more.

It means fans just have a few months to eagerly wait for it to be released, and with Wandavision set to come out in January, there's plenty of Marvel-related content to pass the time until it begins.

Questions We Have: Where Is The Tesseract?

Loki in the desert

The situation revolving around the different Infinity Stones is quite confusing at this point with all the time travel and the fact Thanos did destroy them when he snapped his fingers. However, when The Avengers went back in time to return to stones, everything appeared to be in order.

Yet, Loki appears to take the Tesseract with him when he first vanishes and teleports away from New York. Yet when he lands hard in the sand of the desert, the stone seems to have gone. Does it just fall close by to him out of shot, or will someone else be in control of this throughout the show?

What We Learned: The Time Variance Authority Will Be Involved

Loki Time Variance Authority

Something that was confirmed during the trailer is that the Time Variance Authority (TVA), will have a big part to play within this show. So far, they've not been seen within the MCU, but this organization is in charge of tracking all of the different realities within the universe.

Obviously, Loki has had his hand in messing with that at times throughout the MCU, therefore it will be interesting to see how they treat Loki. He appears to work with them during the trailer, but is that voluntarily, or as a prisoner? That, we will have to find out by watching.

Questions We Have: Is Black Widow In Loki?

Loki Black Widow

While Black Widow does have her own individual movie coming out in 2021, because of what happens in Avengers: Endgame, most people presumed that would be her final MCU appearance. However, one-shot within the trailer seems to tease that she could be involved in Loki.

The figure is only shown from behind and not close up, however, there's no doubt that this looks incredibly like Black Widow. Will this just be a vision, a memory, or will Loki provide a potential path for her to come back, as we have seen in the MCU that many characters who 'die' end up returning.

What We Learned: Owen Wilson Is Mr. Mobius

When Owen Wilson was cast to be part of Loki, there was an obvious element of sheer excitement about things due to his star power and the possibilities of who he could be playing. Well, the Loki trailer has revealed exactly who he will be, which is Mr. Mobius.

Within the subtitles of the trailer, it clearly states that Wilson will be taking on the role of Mobius, which ticks that box officially. For those that don't know, Mobius is involved with the TVA in the comics, which is why this character would make perfect sense for him, and it appears he's going to have some great back and forths with the God of Mischief.

Questions We Have: Will This Lead To Thor: Love And Thunder?

One of the biggest questions that people have had ever since Loki was first announced was whether or not it would link into the upcoming Thor: Love And Thunder movie. Loki has been an integral part of the Thor franchise to this point, and fans have wondered if he will continue to be in the fourth movie.

At the end of the trailer, Loki can be heard stating, "Brother, Heimdall, you better be ready." Obviously, this leads to a major question mark over whether the end of this series will link directly into the movie, setting up Loki's involvement.

What We Learned: The Mystery Of D.B. Cooper Is Resolved

Loki as DB Cooper in Loki Episode 1

The mystery of D.B. Cooper is one of the biggest unsolved crimes of all time, as he took over a Boeing 747 aircraft and held everyone hostage for money, before jumping out of the plane to then disappear. However, Loki is going to answer this real-life situation in a fun way.

It was Loki all along! In the trailer, Loki reveals that it was himself, as he then leaps out of the plane thanks to help from the Bifrost. It seems that Marvel will blend reality with the show here, in what could be a fun scene for fans of unsolved crime.

Questions We Have: Who Is The Hooded Figure?

Loki Hooded Figure

Of course, the trailer for Loki provided a lot of answers and clear hints to things for fans to get talking about, but it didn't give everything away. During the trailer, there is a mysterious hooded character that gets shown in glimpses, but it is never revealed who is underneath that hood.

Will this be a brand new character for the MCU, or is it someone we already know and love that will also be involved as a big secret? It's something that is certainly going to have people talking, and it was certainly one of the big questions many fans had.
