Lucasfilm announced a bunch of new Star Wars content coming to Disney+ at their recent Investor Day event, and one of them was an event series revolving around Lando Calrissian, aptly titled Lando. It’s unclear if the show will star Billy Dee Williams charting Lando’s post-Episode IX adventures or Donald Glover as the younger incarnation introduced in Solo.

It’s likely that the series could star both Williams and Glover and take place across various points in the galactic timeline to chronicle the unseen parts of his entire life. Lando will be penned by Justin Simien — the writer, director, and producer of Dear White People — so Lando’s story is in safe hands.

Han Solo

Lando and Han

If Donald Glover is reprising his role as the younger version of Lando in this new series, then it would be a no-brainer to reteam him with Alden Ehrenreich’s younger version of Han Solo, since the two developed strong chemistry in Solo: A Star Wars Story.

It’s a long shot, but if the series fills in any of the gaps between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, then Harrison Ford could even appear as Han during the New Republic era.

Jannah

Instead of clearing up some of the sequel trilogy’s many unresolved storylines, J.J. Abrams decided to introduce a bunch of new elements in The Rise of Skywalker, including an ex-Stormtrooper named Jannah, played by Naomi Ackie.

At the Resistance’s final celebration in The Rise of Skywalker, Lando asked Jannah where she was from, she said she didn’t know, and he said they should go and find out. This could easily lead into the Lando series.

Wedge Antilles

Wedge Antilles in The Rise of Skywalker

Although he was only given a few brief scenes in the original trilogy and got even more sidelined in the sequel trilogy, Wedge Antilles was one of the most integral figures in the Rebellion and later the Resistance. He helped to train the New Republic’s armies to maintain peace in the galaxy.

Wedge was seen aboard the Falcon with Lando and Chewie when they brought the civilian fleet to Exegol in the final battle of The Rise of Skywalker.

Poe Dameron

Lando had a couple of memorable moments with Poe Dameron in The Rise of Skywalker. Poe asks Lando, “How’d you do it? Defeat an empire with almost nothing,” and Lando replies, “We had each other. That’s how we won.”

Later, when Poe was about to give up hope in the final battle over Exegol, Lando restored that hope by arriving with the civilian fleet. Poe is primed for an appearance alongside Lando on his new Disney+ series.

Luke Skywalker

When he resurfaces in The Rise of Skywalker, Lando says that he and Luke went to Pasaana in search of the Sith dagger (and then, apparently, when they couldn’t find it, Lando just stuck around there for 30 years).

The new Lando series could fill in this backstory, or at least further refine Luke and Lando’s little-seen dynamic. The Mandalorian has already introduced a de-aged Luke.

Finn

Finn showed a great deal of respect for Lando in The Rise of Skywalker, and the two of them made a tangible connection throughout the movie that would be fascinating to explore more in-depth in another story.

It’s unlikely that Finn will appear in the Lando series, though — or any Star Wars streaming content, for that matter — because John Boyega has said that he wouldn’t reprise his role as Finn on Disney+.

Boba Fett

Depending on where in the galactic timeline the Lando series takes place, Temuera Morrison’s cool new portrayal of Boba Fett could cross over for an appearance.

Both Lando and Boba worked together under Vader in The Empire Strikes Back, and were shown to clash under the iron-fisted rule of their Sith overlord.

Leia Organa

Leia initially hated Lando when she met him on Cloud City because he instantly betrayed the Rebels and turned them over to the Empire. However, he redeemed himself by saving them from Vader’s wrath and promising it wasn’t too late to save Han.

Due to Carrie Fisher’s passing, depicting Leia on-screen has become a delicate matter. But Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd could play the role with CGI as she did in The Rise of Skywalker’s flashback sequence.

L3-37

In Solo: A Star Wars Story, fans were introduced to Lando’s droid L3-37, voiced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who was both an outspoken advocate for droid rights and implied to be Lando’s romantic partner. L3 was destroyed in Solo and turned into the Falcon’s navigation computer.

If she’s going to appear in Lando’s new series, it would need to be in pre-Solo flashbacks, which might be necessary for filling in the missing pieces of Lando’s backstory.

Chewbacca

After Han was frozen in carbonite, Lando briefly took his place as the captain of the Millennium Falcon and, more importantly, Chewbacca’s best friend in the interim. As a result, the two had developed a close bond by the time Return of the Jedi came around.

Lando and Chewie reunited in The Rise of Skywalker and jetted off to search the galaxy for civilians willing to fight the Final Order. Joonas Suotamo could easily reprise his role as the iconic Wookiee in Lando’s new series.
