With the recent crossover films like Multiverse of Madness and Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers, Disney is certainly making a name for themselves with so many characters across media reaching out and interacting with one another. But while the previously mentioned titles certainly bring many favorites together, there's material for even more that fans might not realize.

Thanks to fan observations and studio confirmations represented in things like the Disney Theory and Pixar Theory, there are more than a few ways other characters can mix and mingle and it all still be well within the confines of the canon. All it takes is one little spark of imagination to tie things all together.

Ariel And Hercules

Hercules and ariel related theory

Providing that viewers subscribe to classic mythology, there is indeed a connection between Ariel of The Little Mermaid and everyone's favorite wonder boy, Hercules. Not only are they connected via the same studio and era of the Disney Renaissance, but they're also blood relatives.

Zeus is the father of Hercules, whose brother is also Poseidon. Triton is Poseidon's son, making Ariel and Hercules cousins. The red hair gene certainly had to come from somewhere, after all. A crossover between the two might be a bit late to the party, but not unwanted by any means.

Flynn And Rapunzel And Elsa And Anna

Another shared universe that's also been displayed by Disney's animators is that of Tangled and of Frozensince Flynn and Rapunzel were seen attending Elsa's coronation. The kingdoms of Arendell and Corona are both within the same timeline and only an ocean apart, so it would make sense that some interaction between the two kingdoms would have to occur to maintain relations with each territory.

Disney doesn't have to go all Game of Thrones with the crossover, but it might be nice to see some scenario that involves the two sets of Royals working together. Their two corresponding films have had a rivalry for years, it's time they actually came together.

Lady And The Tramp And The 101 Dalmatians

Lady and the Tramp with the Dalmatians

Although they don't have a very strong connection, the evidence is still there that both sets of talking dog movies happen within the same universe. Albeit their locations greatly differ, both 101 Dalmatians and Lady and the Tramp have characters that mix in the other's film, not to mention similar visuals.

Lady, Tramp, and Peg can all be seen in the latter film, with Peg nursing pups in a pet shop and both Lady and the Tramp participating in the Twilight Bark. The hill where Lady and Tramp sleep after their "Bella Note" scene is also a location scanned across while the search for the puppies is conducted. Perhaps the two canine couples aren't as far apart as fans think.

Bruno And Alfredo Linguine

Two Disney characters share a love for rats in Ratatouille and Encanto

In the case of these two characters, there is a principle Walt Disney coined known as "the plausible impossible." Both Bruno and Alfredo come from different studios and are practically on different continents. However, if fans consider the certain connecting features both share, a crossover between the two seems a little more likely.

Food plays a major role in both films, both characters are gangly, awkward, and have an interesting relationship with rats. Plus, in the time Bruno was in exile from La Casita, there's no evidence that anyone would know if he really left or not. In that time, he might have visited other lands and maybe even made a friend with a fellow rat enthusiast.

Belle And Quasimodo

Belle and Quasimodo could share a location

There are several factors that link the events of Beauty and the Beast and The Hunchback of Notre Dame together, even if Belle's cameo in the latter film isn't part of the picture. Both inhabit the same general geographical vicinity and arguably the same timeline. If Belle ever ventured into the city of Paris at some point, she may or may not have had an encounter with Quasimodo.

Keep in mind that while Belle was stowed away and the beast castle for a long amount of time, at least long enough for winter to arrive, she very well might have missed out on the battle of Notre Dame. For all the fans know, both characters might have had their adventures simultaneously. It would definitely be entertaining to see the two swap stories.

Robin Hood And Nick Wilde

Robin Hood seen with Nick Wilde From Zootopia

This combo might be a little tricky, but certainly in the realm of possibilities. According to many Disney theorists, Disney's adaptation of Robin Hood is actually a predecessor to 2016's Zootopia and there's more than enough evidence to support that theory. However, it might be more interesting if the descendants of Robin, Maid Marian, and so on actually lived within the city limits.

Since reincarnation might be a particular stretch for some at Disney, it could be very entertaining to see the likes of Nick and Judy tango with a modernized Robin Hood and his gang of Merry Men. A contemporary Robin working as a modern thief taking on corrupt political figures like Mayor Lionheart, an obvious descendant of King Richard and Little John, practically writes itself.

The Cast Of The Disney Afternoon

If the studio plays by the rules set forth in the Rescue Rangers movie, there's nothing stopping any member of the Disney afternoon from interacting with each other on a professional or casual basis. Celebrities in Hollywood do it all the time, and the beloved animated characters from Disney's '90s era should get to do the same.

If there's a sequel or spinoff in the future, countless fans would flock to Disney+ to see Chip and Dale interact with more of their animated peers. Especially if that ending was meant to tease some form of Darkwing Duck property on the horizon.

All Of The Classic Disney Princesses

Disney princesses all meet together in Ralph Breaks the Internet.

Things start to get a little more complicated with the Disney princess franchise involved. At the end of the day, it all depends on what sort of environment the filmmakers want to see them interact in. If they want them to be their lovely and regal selves, they might go the route of Sofia the First and put them in a fairytale environment. However, the princesses are far more interesting when they are allowed to let their hair down as seen in Ralph Breaks the Internet.

The image of these famous characters in their comfy clothes hanging out and swapping stories has so much comedic potential that it simply cannot be ignored. This could open the door for an animated series made for the now-adult little girls that grew up with many of these beloved heroines.

Walt Disney And Various Characters

A split image of Mickey Mouse and Walt Disney

While it might sound like complete hearsay and speculation, Walt Disney has been existing in his own animated universe long after his passing in 1966. While the legendary animator has made a handful of cameos in his own work before, there are several instances of his hand being shown in a post-Walt world.

Since there's a Dumbo toy in The Great Mouse Detective, a poster for Mulan in Lilo and Stitcha stuffed Stitch in Treasure Planet, and countless Hidden Mickeys scattered throughout his projects, that means there is a Walt Disney in each of these films' universes. It seems Doctor Strange isn't the first wizard to step into the multiverse.

Merlin With Nearly Everyone

Merlin and Arthur from Sword in the Stone

Merlin the magician is one of the most powerful characters in all the Disney realms. Not only can he see into the future far beyond the mental comprehension of young King Arthur, but he can also travel through time and space, especially if that gaudy Bermuda attire is to be believed.

Merlin not only has the ability to interact with various characters from various films, he already has. Disney park fans who remember Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom know just what sort of posse the eccentric wizard hangs out with. This is just one example of Merlin's interdimensional mingling, as he has been seen interacting with several other characters across media, including the cast of Sofia the First and Mickey's crew in various shorts and TV spots.
