The latest update for Disney Dreamlight Valley brought with it a limited-time Halloween event, which will only run from October 24 to 31 and includes a whole host of seasonal activities. These involve brand-new challenges as well as collectibles and pieces of furniture to collect. Items gathered throughout the season will remain in the player's inventory once Halloween is over, too, which makes it worthwhile to collect everything, though they'll have to work quickly to get everything done. Here's everything Dreamlight Valley fans will need to know in preparation for the holiday.

The early access version of Disney Dreamlight Valley launched in September 2022, around a year ahead of the game's free-to-play finished form. Though it only included a relatively small cast of characters upon release, Gameloft is already working to bring more villagers to the valley. The game's fall update, Scar's Kingdom, not only introduced Scar from Disney's The Lion King, but also brought with it another line of quests and various gameplay changes. Even in Dreamlight Valley's early access state, regular content updates and seasonal events provide players with plenty to keep up with.

Also featured in the Scar's Kingdom update is a holiday-themed Star Path, which allows players to unlock exclusive clothing items, pieces of furniture, and design motifs throughout the month. If the Star Path's villain-related offerings weren't enough to make Disney Dreamlight Valley's early access worth paying for this Halloween, developers have tossed in an additional unexpected bonus to bring more variety to its gameplay. Starting on October 24, players can find buckets of candy scattered around the village plaza. Collecting these candies can help unlock other Halloween items over the next week.

Once they start gathering candies, players will find special Dreamlight tasks popping up for them to complete. These range from simple actions, like putting on a mask, to more complex jobs like planting and harvesting dozens of pumpkins. Completing all of them will unlock various pieces of Halloween furniture, such as pumpkins shaped like Mickey's head. It's yet another good reason to make money selling pumpkins in Disney Dreamlight Valley, especially for those who want to decorate their village to match the season. Other items, including candy buckets and scarecrows, can also be crafted thanks to this new update.

Gameloft also hinted at other activities to go along with the event, like the chance to give pieces of candy to Dreamlight Valley's villagers on Halloween, so fans may see even more treats rolling out over the course of the week. It's important to keep in mind that most of these additions will only spawn in until October 31, though, most notably the candies that are hidden throughout the plaza. Though there will undoubtedly be more limited-time holiday offerings in the future, Halloween marks a great chance to befriend some of Disney Dreamlight Valley's many Disney villains and make use of the update's biggest additions.
