Disney Dreamlight Valley has a multitude of characters that can be unlocked, and Pua from Moana might just be the cutest. Players can befriend different critters from each of the biomes to follow them around as they search for materials, farm, and help the residents of the valley.
Each different critter companions species in Disney Dreamlight Valley offers multiple variants. Unlocking Pua the pig requires players to complete a few tasks and they are not befriended in the traditional sense, instead, they are unlocked after helping Moana.
In order to unlock Pua, players will first need to unlock Moana in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Not only do players need to have Moana in the valley, but they also need to have her friendship level at 8 in order to access "The Search for Pua" quest. After speaking with Moana, the player will discover that the coconuts she left near her fishing boat were eaten up, most likely by Pua. Glowing paw prints will be found near the fishing boat. Moana and the player will deduce that Pua probably needed a drink of water and the player is tasked with checking near the ponds in the Peaceful Meadow.
The Search for Pua In Disney Dreamlight Valley
Once the coconuts are found. the player and Moana will discuss that Pua probably went to find more food. Head to Chez Remy's, which is unlocked after the player unlocks Remy in Dreamlight Valley. An upturned plate of food will be found near Remy's, with the player noting that Pua was probably spooked by something and ran up the incline near to the Forest of Valor.
Even if the player has moved Chez Remy's to a different location, Pua will still run to the Forest of Valor.
Once the player and Moana head up to the Forest of Valor in Disney Dreamlight Valley, the player should look near the steps that lead to the Frosted Heights near the original location of Anna and Kristoff's home. There will be a few Night Thorns there, some of which Pua is tangled up in. Clear away the Night Thorns to release Pua and receive a Leader Shard. Once the player hands over the leader shard to Moana, the quest will be marked as complete.
Once completed, players can change their appearance in Dreamlight Valley and Pua can now be the player's critter companion. Pua will follow the player around the valley as they explore and help other characters. As of publishing, Pua is the only special critter companion in Disney Dreamlight Valley; however, with an update around the corner and more to come, there are plenty of opportunities to see more.
