The first big update for Disney Dreamlight Valley dropped on October 19, and along with a bunch of bug fixes and holiday-related items, the update gave players the newest unlockable character, Scar from The Lion King. Unlocking Scar is not as easy as downloading the latest update though. There are multiple steps that players must take before Scar's home will even be unblocked.

Scar is the latest of the now 18 unlockable characters in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Some characters could be unlocked just by unlocking new biomes whereas others have required the completion of one or more quests. Two more characters have been confirmed to be added in the future: Woody and Buzz from Toy Story.

Before players can even start the quest line that allows them to befriend Scar, they must unlock a biome and complete some quests. Players will not be able to access Scar's home prior to completing these quests. The entrance will be blocked by stones and bones. Players will also have to have restored four of the pillars in the Valley.

In order to even access the area to Scar's home, players must first unlock the Sunlit Plateau. Unlocking the Sunlit Plateau will cost the player 7,000 Dreamlight. Once this area is unlocked, Scar's home can be found before the entrance to the Forbidden Lands. Players will also have to complete the quest "The Curse" from Dreamlight Valley's Mother Gothel, who also needs to be unlocked.

Completing "The Curse" requires players to unlock the Glade of Trust and restore the Pillar of Trust. Players will need to first speak to Mother Gothel, and then to Ursula and Kristoff. Once completing their requests, the player will open a portal to the Here and There and will be able to, in a ghostly form, cross the bridge the to Orb of Trust and restore the pillar. Players must have the Friendship, Courage, Power, and Trust Pillars all restored before Scar's home is unlocked.

Once players have completed these tasks, the entrance to Scar's home will be unblocked and players can begin to interact with him and start his line of quests to restore the pillar located in the Sunlit Plateau, which requires Vitalis Crystals from Dreamlight Valley. This leaves two known pillars left to restore in the Forgotten Lands and the Frosted Heights. Whether these will be addressed in the next update of Disney Dreamlight Valley, which will include characters from Toy Story, is yet to be seen.
