A new 2023 roadmap for Disney Dreamlight Valley has been announced, revealing what players can expect from the game over the next several months. Though still in early access, that hasn't stopped Gameloft from frequently adding large amounts of new content to the simulation title. In the past, this has included everything from holiday events and Star Paths to new villagers being made available that can move into a player's town. The most recent content for Disney Dreamlight Valley was the Toy Story update, which added a slew of things for the holiday season as well as characters Woody, Buzz, and Stitch. Each new update generally comes with a Star Path as well, which is Disney Dreamlight Valley's battle pass equivalent, offering limited-time tasks and rewards. This is everything revealed so far that fans can expect from Disney Dreamlight Valley in 2023.Related: Disney Dreamlight Valley: Buzz Lightyear Friendship Guide

February Brings Mirabel & More To Disney Dreamlight Valley

Disney Dreamlight Valley February roadmap segment with Mirabel.

A new post from the Disney Dreamlight Valley website has expanded on the next several months of content for the game, beginning with February. The biggest standout addition for the month is Encanto's Mirabel, who will be able to be befriended by the player. However, Mirabel - like many in-game characters - will not come with her own realm. The previously unlockable Disney Dreamlight Valley Frozen characters Elsa and Anna will also be joined by their snowman friend Olaf, whose hand can be seen in the corner of the roadmap next to Mirabel.

February will also bring a new Star Path to Disney Dreamlight Valley. February's path will celebrate the Disney company's 100-year anniversary, and although little has been revealed about the Star Path so far, the roadmap image shows the classic Disney mouse ears dripping in platinum, echoing the similar design that began selling at Disney parks in 2023. In an interview with Polygon, Lead Producer Manea Castet stated the event will contain a new pet, furniture, and items. The roadmap teases that players will be able to "discover the Secrets of the Frosted Heights Biome" as well, perhaps furthering the in-game plot there surrounding The Forgetting.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Sees A New Realm In April

April will bring another update to Disney Dreamlight Valley, this time introducing a fresh realm. Even though unlocking Lion King's Scar in Disney Dreamlight Valley didn't involve a new realm, it seems unlocking his nephew Simba will. Players will be able to travel to the themed area to find Simba, although it seems he won't be the only new character arriving in April - while the roadmap only specifies Simba, it does say "new characters arrive to the Valley," with a notable pluralization, as well as vaguely teased other surprises.

Another Star Path will hit Disney Dreamlight Valley too, this time themed around the Disney parks themselves. The aforementioned article illuminates that while players won't be able to completely transform Dreamlight Valley to look like a Disney theme park, the Star Path will feature several items that can give it a more park-like aesthetic. The roadmap displays a Mickey Mouse Ferris wheel, perhaps hinting that some larger-scale decor will be available to unlock, although nothing has been confirmed.

Early Summer Has A Plot-Centric Disney Dreamlight Valley Update

Disney Dreamlight Valley Early Summer segment with an evil player in front of a pumpkin house.

As players continue working towards happily ever after in Dreamlight Valley, they'll receive another update around the midway point of 2023. While the information provided for the early summer update is vaguer, it still provides some interesting insight, revealing this update will center on furthering the plot surrounding The Forgetting - including possibly revealing its cause. The roadmap image also features the giant pumpkin house that has long-puzzled players, hinting the identity of its owner may finally come to light as well.

The mysterious pumpkin resident won't be the only new character, either. The statement that "a new princess races into the Valley" could indicate the arrival of Vanellope von Schweetz, the beloved racer protagonist from Wreck-It Ralph. Additionally, the purple figure seen in the roadmap looks the evil version of the player that's a part of Scar's questline, indicating they may be making a resurgence and perhaps trying to hinder the good work players have been doing with all of Disney Dreamlight Valley's characters.

Disney Dreamlight Valley 2023 Roadmap - Multiplayer & More Are On The Way

Several other features have been teased for Disney Dreamlight Valley in the most recent roadmap that don't have any specific timing assigned to them just yet. This includes the long-requested multiplayer functionality, an ever-growing list of Disney Dreamlight Valley characters, additional realms, new clothing and motifs - which are patterns used for custom clothing - and more decorations and furniture. It's hinted that one of these new characters will likely be Belle, as she can be seen standing in the background in the last roadmap image.

A host of quality-of-life improvements are also slated for Disney Dreamlight Valley in 2023, detailed in the previously mentioned Polygon interview. One of the biggest is an overhaul of the chests and inventory system in the game that will make upgrading storage in Disney Dreamlight Valley much more worthwhile. This includes differently-styled chests to help players differentiate between them, auto-sorting and auto-select, and a panel that allows players to see what's in a chest prior to opening it, all of which will help streamline the system. The other change will come in the form of customization, especially having to do with players' home exteriors, although no other details have been given.

It's likely that the additions teased in this new Disney Dreamlight Valley roadmap only scratch the surface of what fans can expect to see from each update in 2023, with Disney promising additional surprises to come along with each one. This means that while all players may have realms or characters they'd like to see in Dreamlight Valley that weren't mentioned here, it doesn't mean they're out of the question. Since the game is still in early access it's not without its problems, but Gameloft's planned updates and dedication to listening to the community make 2023 look quite promising for Disney Dreamlight Valley.
