New images from Disney's Christopher Robin reveal what the silly old bear, along with some of his closest friends, will look like in the movie.

Christopher Robin is a live-action movie about Christopher Robin, the son that A.A. Milne wrote about in his Winnie the Pooh children's books. In this fictitious tale, though, Christopher Robin is all grown up (as portrayed by Ewan McGregor) and dealing with adult problems that include trauma from seeing battle in WWII, as well as balancing a stressful job with a family. But just as the stress is about to get to him, some old friends turn up to teach him some very important life lessons. Those old friends are, of course, Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, Rabbit, and the rest of the denizens of Hundred Acre Wood.

EW revealed these new story details for Christopher Robin, along with two photos from the film. In one of the images, Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger are shown relaxing on a beach with their sunglasses on, ready to impart their wisdom to a man who desperately needs it. Take a look, below:

McGregor also spoke to EW about what the adult version of Christopher Robin is like in the film:

“In those older stories, [Christopher Robin] purveys a lot of wisdom through the way he deals with Pooh. Pooh and Eeyore run through a lot of philosophical questions, and Christopher Robin is there to answer them somehow. And I think, largely, he’s just lost any of that childish wisdom and he’s a bit stuck. He’s just very work-minded and doesn’t have any time for play. I suppose that’s what the film is about: finding his relationship with his younger self again.”

As seen in these images, Pooh and his friends have a very vintage look and there's a specific reason for that: they are beloved toys that were played with often, grown dusty from Christopher Robin's time away from them. Their looks also take inspiration from E.H. Shepard, who illustrated the characters for the original A.A. Milne books. Pooh is voiced by Jim Cummings, who has voiced the character for Disney since 1988, while Nick Mohammed is Piglet, Brad Garrett is Eeyore, and Chris O'Dowd is Tigger.

Judging from the first trailer for the film, this one will require many tissues. Disney fans certainly got a case of the feels when seeing that first clip of Pooh and Christopher Robin meeting again for the first time in years. Expect many more emotional moments to follow in the movie proper.
