While Disney's princes don't quite get the same limelight as their respective princesses, there's no doubt that they're just as important. Some are the focal point of their movies, while others are in supporting roles, but all of them have an impact on their respective films.
The princes are often portrayed as the ultimate heroes who save the day or do countless good deeds for their princesses, but that isn't actually always the case. Some princes do a lot within the films, while others actually do very little.
Bravery is something that is often associated with a prince, and that includes Disney's characters. So here are the Disney princes, ranked by how brave they are.
The Prince (Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs)
Unlike the vast majority of other Disney princes, The Prince (who doesn't even get a name), does very little within Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. He is the most stereotypical prince of the bunch, simply turning up as a saviour when needed, giving Snow White the kiss that awakens her.
He doesn't really display any characteristics that resemble bravery throughout the entire film, with The Prince simply just being some eye candy and a romantic interest for the main princess. He is certainly one of the most forgettable princes of all time.
Prince Charming (Cinderella)
Much like The Prince previously mentioned, Prince Charming does very little to prove his bravery in Cinderella. While he could be a very brave character, he doesn't really get the chance to show that as this is a movie without much action, unlike some of the other films on this list.
While Prince Charming certainly put in the effort to try and locate Cinderella, proving his commitment to her. Other than a lot of riding around to find the foot that matched the glass slipper, he doesn't do much in the way of proving he is a brave character.
Prince Naveen (Princess And The Frog)
Whether he is a frog or a human, Prince Naveen is not one of the bravest characters in Disney's history. He starts out in the movie as a very arrogant person who only thinks about himself, which means in the early adventures with Tiana, he isn't particularly brave.
Eventually, Naveen does step up and tries to help Tiana, doing everything he can to get the restaurant for her. However, out of all the characters in Princess and the Frog, it is Ray who is the bravest, as he goes head-on into anything.
Flynn Rider (Tangled)
Much like Prince Naveen, Flynn Rider also starts out as a rather cocky and arrogant person who is all about himself, trying to rob the crown in order to become rich. The only reason he initially agrees to help Rapunzel is for purely selfish interests, and he does whatever he can to ditch her early on.
However, as he slowly begins to fall in love with her, Flynn becomes much braver. He risks his life multiple times within the movie and fights for Rapunzel at every available opportunity. While there isn't a big villain he can literally fight within Tangled, he still shows he is brave deep down.
Eric (The Little Mermaid)
Eric doesn't get tons of opportunities to show his bravery throughout The Little Mermaid, but when the opportunity arises he leaps into action and does whatever he can to help Ariel. After learning about Ursula, Eric doesn't think twice about leaping into the ocean himself to try and help out.
Despite the fact he's only a human and cannot swim as well as the underwater creatures, he still goes down and tries his best against the sea witch. He battles against Ursula well and even ends up being the one to defeat her as he battles the stormy conditions at the wheel of his ship, crashing into her to end her reign of terror.
Li Shang (Mulan)
Unlike everyone else on this list, Li Shang is a natural warrior, a true fighter and someone who is used to putting their lives on the line. Because of that, it's hard to rank him too high on this list for bravery, because his job is to fight and protect China in the army.
He knows what he is getting himself in for when he signs up for that post. However, there's no denying that is a very brave thing to do and Li Shang is certainly a very skilled fighter. He also shows great bravery when he spares Mulan's life after finding out she's a girl, which goes against what he should do.
The Beast (Beauty And The Beast)
The Beast is one of the most iconic Disney princes of all time, and he is certainly one of the most popular. One of the reasons for that is the fantastic bravery that he shows at different points throughout the film. Because even though he starts off as a stereotypical, grumpy Beast, he quickly proves he is charming deep down.
From fighting off a pack of wolves to battling against Gaston, and coming close to actually dying in order to fight for what he loves, few are braver than the Beast. He gets rewarded for his efforts by becoming a human again, which is more than deserved.
John Smith (Pochahontas)
John Smith is a very underrated character from Disney history, and he is also one of the bravest. Throughout Pochahontas he does what he thinks is right, even if it goes against what he and his group have arrived to do, with his love for Pocahontas being the most important thing to him.
He is a forward thinker, unlike others in his group, and he shows his true bravery when he saves Powhatan's life, taking a bullet for him. It's not something he needs to do, as they were planning on killing him, but it shows his bravery and love for Pocahontas.
Prince Phillip (Sleeping Beauty)
He might not be as popular as some of the other princes on this list, but when it comes to bravery, few even come close to what Prince Phillip puts himself through. He does absolutely everything possible in order to help Aurora, including battling against an actual dragon!
Armed with only a sword and a shield, Prince Phillip rides headfirst into a battle with Maleficent, knowing the chances of him winning are slim. He shows he is brave and wants to help his love, and he does end up being victorious in Sleeping Beauty's epic battle.
Aladdin (Aladdin)
Unlike the other princes in Disney's history, Aladdin's movie is all focused on him, rather than the princess. It's about his rags to riches journey as he falls in love with Princess Jasmine, rather than the other way around. Because of that, the movie really does spend a lot of time showcasing Aladdin's strengths.
It's clear from the start just how brave he is, helping out Jasmine when he doesn't even know she's a princess as she wanders into Agrabah, despite the danger it puts him in. That's something he continues doing throughout the film. Whether it's going through the cave of wonders of stepping up against Jafar, there's nothing that Aladdin will not do, making him the bravest prince ever.
