Matt Groening's highly anticipated animated TV show at Netflix, Disenchantement, finally has a teaser trailer. The creator of The Simpsons and Futurama returns, bringing a new set of characters to medieval times. With nearly 20 years without a new show, this latest look into the world of Disenchantment only heightens the anticipation.

Disenchantment follows the story of hard-drinking Princess Bean, her spirited elf friend Elfo, and her own personal demon named Luci as they battle against all who threaten the citizens of Dreamland. Fighting ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, and trolls, Disenchantment is a far cry from Springfield and the vast universe. With a 10 episode order placed by Netflix, Groening's latest will premiere in August and will feature the voice talents of John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche and Tress MacNeille.

Released by Netflix, the teaser trailer for Disenchantment is a brief 44 second look into the world of Dreamland and its inhabitants, specifically Princess Bean and her royally judgmental father. "You've seen the future in Futurama, you've seen the present in The Simpsons, so what's the obvious third move? The past of course. Welcome to Dreamland," the voiceover excitedly announces as spectators are whisked rapidly through the kingdom and into the throne room.

Viewers are quickly introduced to the ruler of Dreamland, who is presiding over the Royal Court. Instantly audiences will feel a connection as the subject before him called to answer for some wrongdoing is his daughter, Princess Bean. With this brief interaction, the stage has been set and a small taste of what is to come has been dished out.

Groening is only one of many creators who are leaving the traditional networks, jumping ship to bring and expand their talents on various streaming services. Netflix has been one of the main streaming services that seems to have been able to lure away some of the strongest talent on television today. Joining Groening in this shift is Ryan Murphy and Shonda Rhimes, creators of American Horror Story and Grey's Anatomy, respectively. While work from each of them has yet to be released on Netflix, their previous work speaks for itself. And with the days counting down to the release of Disenchantment, we won't have to wait long to see what this shift has to offer.

The Simpsons and Futurama each saw wide success and solidified a strong fan base. Since the release of photos for Disenchantment, fans of both have been anxiously waiting for the show's trailer, and while it only provides a glimpse, it's sure to satisfy even the most critical of fans.
