Despite Rachel Covey not returning as Morgan for the Enchanted sequel, the actress does make a cameo as a new character in Disenchanted. While she is only onscreen for a few seconds, audiences may be able to recognize the actress, who is now an adult. Gabriella Baldacchino replaces Covey as a teenage Morgan in the sequel, but Covey's presence is still felt during her brief appearance in the Disney+ movie.

Rachel Covey's cameo occurs when Giselle (Amy Adams) meets the Queen of Monrolasia shortly after making her wish. Covey's "Monrolasia Girl" is a villager who reminds Giselle of the town's festival. The quick scene was a great way to include the former child actress, now in her mid-20s, in the long-awaited Enchanted follow-up given its everlasting legacy. It is one of many Disney Easter eggs included in Disenchanted. Viewers may be surprised to notice that not only did Covey return, but she looks very different from when she turned eight years old during the filming of Enchanted in 2006.

Why Isn't Rachel Covey Playing Morgan In Disenchanted?

Audiences that grew up with Enchanted may have immediately noticed that Morgan actress Rachel Covey did not return to reprise her role for Disenchanted. While her cameo is notable, it is unclear why Covey opted not to play Morgan again. The sequel only takes place 10 years after the original, whereas 15 years have actually gone by in reality. Covey or even Disney may have decided to go in a different direction due to her age, or maybe she can't sing, which might have been a requirement. After acting in Enchanted, Covey went on to live more of a regular life and could have wanted to focus on other ventures. Many of these could be reasons why Disney recast Morgan in Disenchanted.

What Rachel Covey Has Done Since Enchanted

Prior to appearing as Morgan in the first Enchanted film, Rachel Covey's only acting credit was as Kate in 2005's Duane Hopwood, which starred David Schwimmer of Friends fame. That movie had a very limited theatrical release, but it may have been enough to garner Disney's attention. After Enchanted, Covey didn't return to acting for several years, until 2016. That year, she was hired to portray a teenage girl who was being bullied by her friends on ABC's What Would You Do?, a hidden-camera show.

Now a playwright and composer, Rachel Covey's first musical, Painting Faye Salvez, was featured during the New York Musical Festival in 2017. Later that year, she was listed in Playbill's list of "11 Women Creatives You Need to Know at NYMF This Year." She also went on to graduate from Northwestern University in 2020 before filming her cameo playing a new character in Disenchanted the following year. Covey may not be a full-time actress today, but it seems that she may have found her calling as a playwright.
