As the nearly undisputed king of the battle royale genre, Fortnite has been living it up at the top for years now. Thousands of players flock to the game every single day to try out new game modes, explore the different community-created levels, or just eliminate their friends with a host of different weapons. Being one of the most popular games in the world has panned out very nicely for the team at Epic Games.

There is actually a pretty serious downside to this though, and it's that Fortnite players are almost constantly begging that certain features are removed or fixed. One of the longest-running complaints with Fortnite has been the pre-edits feature, which has caused issues for players of all different skill levels. Recently though Epic Games has added in a feature that allows players to remove this feature entirely, so this guide shows players how to do that.

Fortnite: How to Disable Pre-Edits

Pre-edits have long been a feature in Fortnite, but player views on the mechanic have always been mixed. Essentially pre-edits allow the player to modify a structure before they place it down rather than editing it after the fact. This used to be very useful for controller users, but as the game has progressed, and things have become much more competitive, speed has become the biggest priority for building. This in turn means that pre-edits tend to get in the way by slowing down the building process or making it more complicated than it usually needs to be. Even many pro-level players have cited this feature as being something that has caused them to lose matches in the past.

Now players are able to entirely disable the pre-edit option with the click of a button. All they have to do is go into the settings menu and scroll all the way down until they see the building menu. Right below the "Reset Building Choice" option, there will now be a new option for "Disable Pre-Edit Option". All the player needs to do now is activate this choice and they won't have to deal with pre-edits any longer in their game. If the player finds that they miss the feature though all they have to do is go back into the menu and reflip the switch.
