Getting a smart watch has been quite trendy for awhile now. While there are a lot of models on the market to choose from, there are two major companies that have been going head to head for quite some time.

The Apple Watch 5 Vs the Fitbit Versa 2. They are the two watches that are nearly identical. These two watches have a lot of the same features in common, including a watch-style step counter. With the Apple Watch and the Fitbit Versa 2 there are a couple big differences that could sway a buyer's choice. Here is The 10 Biggest Differences Between Fitbit And The Apple Watch.

Apple Watch Only Works For Apple Phones

The first differences between the Fitbit Versa 2 and any Apple Watch is that the Apple Watch only works for Apple phones. If the buyer has a Samsung Phone, stop reading now--the decision is already made.

While the buyer can use a Fitbit Versa 2 with an iPhone, it does come with some downsides. While you can receive text messages on the Fitbit Versa 2, you will not be able to reply with the watch. Similarly, you cannot use Siri either.

The Battery Life

One of the most important features of any smartwatch is, of course, the battery life. If the watch has a low battery life, it can make or break the product, no matter how many cool features there are. Now the Apple Watch series 5 has 18 hours of battery life, which is plenty to get through a normal day. The buyer can use this from early in the morning until they go to bed.

The Fitbit Versa 2 though has a whopping 6+ days of battery life. Yes. you read that right. 6 DAYS. The buyer can take that on a week trip and only having to charge it once. Making sure the watch gets charged every night is a thing of the past with this watch. Just throw it on the charger maybe once a week and the buyer will be good to go.

GPS

The down side of the Fitbit Versa 2 is that it does not have a built in GPS. The buyer must have their phone nearby at all times to use a GPS on their watch. With the Apple Watch, even when there is no cellular, they still have a built in GPS and do not need their phone.

While at first, it does not seem like a big deal, it just depends if the buyer still wants to bring their phone with them on a run or if they would rather ditch the phone at home.

Fitness Vs Smart Watch

While the Apple Watch has a lot of great fitness features that come with the watch or through apps, the Fitbit Versa 2 is all fitness-hence, the name. The Fitbit Versa 2 has the capability to connect with Fitbit coach,a collection of personalized audio and videos related to fitness.

If a buyer is looking for a dedicated fitness track with simple abilities like messaging and paying for coffee, the Fitbit Versa 2 is the a good choice.

Apple Watch Can Make Calls

One of the biggest differences between the Fitbit Versa 2 and the Apple Watch is if the buyer gets the Apple Watch with GPS+Cellular, the buyer can get service through the following carriers; Verizon, Sprint, At&t, T-Mobile, Appalachian, C Spire, Us Cellular, and Xfinity. This makes it so the buyer has no reason to bring their phone with them on a run, in the store, swimming, or even going on a drive. Ditch the phone and just take the watch with you.

Alexa Vs Siri

While some buyers may be very picky about which they prefer, it really just boils down to preference. While there are studies on which is better, more effective, and reliable, some people just feel comfortable with one over the other.

Of course, iPhone users will most likely prefer Siri and Echo Dot users will prefer Alexa.

The App Store

As the name suggests, the Fitbit Versa 2 is intended for fitness and exercise. The Fitbit mostly has fitness apps to help the buyer with their goals on getting healthier. It does have other apps, such as Yelp, the New York Times, music subscription apps, and wallet apps for ease of purchasing.

The Apple Watch has the standard app store every Apple Product that comes with. It comes with fitness apps, games, Night Sky, music, and other fun little apps that add a little zing to the newly purchase product.

Customize

The Apple online store lets buyers customize their own apple watch with different styles and colors. The buyer can pick between the 40mm and the 44mm size and then can pick from nine different case styles. From there, they can pick from a multitude of different wrist bands. Whatever the size, style, or color the buyer wants, they can get.

While you can get different strap colors and cases to choose from for the Fitbit Versa 2, it only comes in one size. The only way you can really customize the Fitbit is if you buy a different band at another time.

The Looks

While the looks for Fitbit Versa and the Apple Watch are not too different from far away, there is a clear difference when you look up close. The Fitbit is a longer square looking model that looks a little chunkier on the wrist.

The Apple Watch is a slimmer square model with the turner on the side, but both are very similar looking and sleek in their design. Either way, they both look great on your wrist.

The Price Point

The biggest difference between the Fitbit Versa 2 and the Apple Watch 5 is the price point. The Fitbit Versa 2 sells for $199.95 on their website, but they also have a Fitbit Versa Lite for only $159.95 which is way cheaper and has a lot of the same features as the Versa 2. The Apple Watch 5 price starts at $399 on the Apple website, but it goes up from there depending on the strap, optional GPS, and cellular.

The Fitbit is definitely a lot cheaper for their newest addition to their fitness tracker watches. While they both have their pros and cons, in the end, it just depends on what the buyer wants from their fitness tracker/smart watch.
