One unique feature that Diablo Immortal will implement in an upcoming update is the ability to change Classes for the same character. This feature is unsurprisingly known as "Class Change" and will permit players to swap their Class to a different one on an existing avatar. Traditionally, online MMOs limit users to a single Class per character in games like Diablo Immortal. There are exceptions, such as the instant Job swapping of Final Fantasy XIV, but Classes are typically tied to the identity of a player's avatar. However, Diablo Immortal seeks to change this standard by introducing Class Change to the player experience.

Changing Classes in Diablo Immortal can benefit those who play the game for several hours but realize they might prefer to try another Class. For example, perhaps a user plays as a Wizard for five to six hours but becomes unsatisfied with the Class's mechanics and therefore wishes to become a Necromancer. With Change Class, the player can easily switch over to being a Necromancer on the same character without worrying about losing valuable progression on Paragon levels.

Furthermore, fans can transfer all their item progress and Gems to another Class in Diablo Immortal. None of the equipped gear or stash from the previous Class will be lost, including progress regarding Horadric Vessels and the Helliquary. It should be mentioned that all the details mentioned concerning Class Change are reversible, meaning that players can return to their previous Class whenever they wish. Furthermore, they can freely choose between multiple Classes since no restrictions will be placed on partaking in this feature.

How To Switch Classes In Diablo Immortal

Accordingly, to change one's Class in Diablo Immortal, players will need to visit a specific location within Westmarch, the city that serves as the game's central hub. Naturally, users first need to progress far enough in the main campaign to reach this city, but it should not take them very long. As mentioned above, Class Change is a feature that has yet to be implemented, but Blizzard has stated that it will be "arriving shortly after Diablo Immortal launches."

Until then, players still have the option to switch Classes by using an entirely new character on the same account. There are two ways to open the character selection screen to perform this action:

  • Step 1: Click or tap on the Character Portrait in the top left of the screen.
  • Step 2: Select the ellipsis (...)
  • Step 3: Choose "Leave Game."

Here's another way the same process can be done:

  • Step 1: Click or tap the ellipsis on the top right.
  • Step 2: Select Settings.
  • Step 3: Select the "General" tab.
  • Step 4: Choose "Leave Game."
