Diablo 3 has been out for over eight years now but is still going strong. This action role-playing game has a sequel coming sometime soon, as well as a new mobile game. Plenty of content has been released for Diablo 3 post-launch and has become all the better for it.

Completing the five acts of the story (main game plus expansion) only takes around 30 hours to beat, but that does not mean the game is over. There are still plenty of things to do. It is not uncommon in ARPGs for the real fun to begin in the endgame content, and Diablo 3 is no exception.

Things to Do After Beating the Game in Diablo 3

After players finish Act V of the Campaign Mode, Adventure mode becomes unlocked. It has new areas to explore, and new content, mainly in the form of Bounties and Nephalem Rifts.

Bounties: A bounty is a specific quest the player is tasked with completing, such as killing a boss, clearing a dungeon of monsters, or saving civilians. Players who complete all bounties in an act get a Horadric Cache from Tyrael, which contains all manner of loot.

Nephalem Rifts: These rifts are essentially trials the player can complete by slaying all manner of baddies. As the player slays more enemies, a progress meter fills up. Once it is full, the Rift Guardian will appear, which is a powerful boss. Upon slaying it, it drops loot, including a Greater Rift Key. This key can be used to undertake the Greater Rifts, which differs from regular rifts in some respects. Players have fifteen minutes to complete Greater Rifts, including killing the Rift Guardian. The difficulty is set before entering, and the higher the difficulty, the better the rewards. Loot is only dropped by the Rift Guardian, although it does drop some very good loot.

Join a Season: When a player creates a seasonal character, it acts as if it is a brand-new game. Seasonal characters begin at level 1 with no equipment, storage is empty, the artisans are at rank 1, and so on. Why would anyone want to put themselves through starting new when they have already unlocked so much? Well, there are rewards for completing season objectives such as pets, cosmetics, and armor sets. Each season also has unique effects.

Right now, Diablo 3 is in its 21st season, and it is still ongoing. Season 22 has not been announced yet, so there is still time to get in on the action. Players can venture through the story again, or they can simply begin in Adventure Mode. As they level up, they will get better loot drops, and gain better gear, which will allow them to attempt playing on harder difficulties to complete the season objectives. The higher the difficulty, the better loot drops. Higher difficulties require players to have effective builds and optimized gear, and it can be very satisfying to finally carve through enemies that were causing difficulty before.
