The promo for the upcoming episode of Dexter: New Blood sets up Dexter's next kill. The Dexter revival has just aired episode 4, in which Dexter (who goes by the name Jim Lindsay) finds out that his son Harrison has been involved in a stabbing, after Harrison claimed that he was the victim. The show brings back Dexter's foul-mouthed sister Debra, who acts as his subconscious, while introducing a multitude of new characters. Newcomers include Dexter's girlfriend Angela Bishop, who is the Chief of Police, Kurt Caldwell, who is the season's main antagonist, and Dexter's grown son Harrison, who comes back into his life after ten years.

The last episode, "H is for Hero," also introduced Jamie Chung's character, Molly Park, a true crime podcaster who offers to assist Bishop in the case of missing girls in Dexter's new area of Iron Lake, New York. It is also revealed that Caldwell is the owner of the motel where one of the girls was staying, who was later locked inside her room and shot dead by an unknown person in a ski mask when given the opportunity to escape. The episode confirmed him as the villain, and someone that Dexter should keep his eye on in future episodes of New Blood.

Now Showtime has released a trailer for the next episode of Dexter: New Blood, which shows Dexter preparing to kill another victim. After 10 years of not killing anyone, Dexter finally broke his streak and killed an Iron Lake resident in episode 1 who, unbeknownst to him, was Caldwell's son. The trailer also shows Dexter confronting Harrison about his story of the stabbing, along with the Iron Lake Police Department potentially one step closer to solving the case of the missing girls. Watch the full trailer for Dexter: New Blood episode 5 below:

The continuation has already set up multiple intriguing storylines, with many questions that still need to be answered. The most recent Dexter: New Blood episode 4 showed that Caldwell lied about knowing his son was alive, despite Dexter killing him. As a result, Dexter believes that Caldwell will seek unscrupulous vengeance on the murderer. It also paid homage to the original Dexter series, showing Harrison listening to Park's podcast of the Trinity Killer, as well as flashbacks of the shocking season 4 finale in which Dexter finds Harrison as an infant crying in a pool of his mother's blood, which ties perfectly to Harrison potentially following his father's vigilante footsteps.

It will be exciting to see what the next Dexter: New Blood episode 5, titled "Runaway," will reveal. The show will likely continue to harken back to its arguably best season, with Trinity Killer portrayer John Lithgow expecting to make a guest appearance in a flashback. As the season is now almost halfway into its run, its dramatic conclusion is drawing nearer, which showrunner Clyde Phillips teases will be one to remember. As this new trailer sets Dexter up to take his next victim, the finale of Dexter: New Blood is certainly shaping up to be a very gruesome one.
