The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil In Me is teeming with puzzles, Jamie’s keypad-locked door being a somewhat trickier one. The dark and creepy environment has quite a bit to explore and discover in this scene, including some interesting lore and collectible secrets. This puzzle is located in the twelfth chapter of the game titled Staff Only.

Unlike past chapters of The Dark Pictures Anthology, characters now have an inventory with relevant items for exploration. While playing as Jamie, players can illuminate the space with a flashlight by pressing the up arrow key on PC, or the up button of the D-pad on console controllers. This will be handy when the breakers go out in the scene’s opening sequence, leaving it up to Jamie to traverse the dark mansion to get the power back on.

Hidden Secrets in the Staff Only Chapter

Dark Pictures Anthology Devil In Me Jamies Keypad Code Locked Door Answer

Jamie, The Devil in Me's protagonist, will start in a hallway that branches from the lobby of a hotel. Continuing forward down the hallway, the first door to the left will be open, contained in this room, will be a desk with an interactive drawer. Inside is an examinable document that when turned over will reveal a secret. All revealed secrets are viewable through the Collections and Characters selection in the menu. Moving along the wall from the desk will be a locked door, inaccessible at this time. To the right of the locked door is an examinable bulletin board on the wall.

On the bulletin board in the center is an advertisement for the Devil in Me's hotel spa and to the visible right is an old staff notice for changing pool hours. Forcing the camera to the left will reveal another posting that was slightly off-screen and easily missed – an invoice for a digital keypad lock. On the top right of the invoice is a circled number: 0451. This is the code used for the keypad found later in the chapter.

Having finished looking at everything in this room, exit through the same door Jamie entered. Going left out of the door and along the hallway, Jamie will encounter another locked door on the right. Continuing down the same hallway will lead to an open room, prompting some funny, self-aware dialogue. This is the room with the keypad lock, but players should note that they will not be able to explore the lobby or upstairs once the breakers are back on, so it’s important to do that last. Going straight into the room will lead to a desk with a new discoverable secret on the backside of a package slip.

Continuing past the desk, behind the tall red toolbox will be another Dark Picture's secret found on the backside of a document on the ground. In the upper left corner of the room is a narrow gray locker with another piece of lore Jamie can examine, but it does not reveal any secrets. Along the left wall of the room is an open door that leads into another room. Straight across from the doorway is a desk with an interactive tape recorder on it, although nothing plays on it at this time. There is a set of double doors in this room that lead to a room with a small stage with red curtains. To the immediate left of the double doors is a big red button, but it won’t do anything until the power is back on. The closed door on the left wall will lead back into the main lobby.

On the lobby’s check-in desk will be a document with a bit of character interaction between The Dark Picture's Kate and Charlie written on it. Going towards the stairs, looking up will reveal an examinable number counter. Upstairs, a coin can be found in the furthest corner and the desk to the left of the stairs will provide some interesting lore concerning Du’Met.

Going back downstairs, through the hallway with the “private” sign over it, Jamie can trek back to the room with the keypad. Entering 0451, the number from the invoice, will unlock the door and reveal the fusebox puzzle, which when solved will turn the power back on. A few unsettling noises will sound off and Jamie can go back to the room with the stage and press the big red button on the wall. Pushing it will set off a disturbing animatronic barbershop quartet show. Opening the closed door will trigger a scene with Charlie, where Jamie has some dialogue choices to make. This will end Staff Only and lead immediately into the next scene of The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me.
