The Devil All The Time is Netflix's latest movie and it brings together an amazing ensemble cast. The film is dark in tone and battles the idea of evangelical religion, and beautifully blends good and evil together throughout, proving that they can also exist within the same person, particularly with Arvin Russell, who murders people but does so believing he is doing the right thing.

The movie is incredibly tense, from the father who demands that his child pray for his dying mother's cancer to be gone to the step-brother who takes drastic action following his sister's suicide. Incredibly tough topics are covered, from the abandonment of children to a reverend abusing his position of power, and it is this fantastic cast of actors that brings it all together in a gripping and engaging manner.

Robert Pattinson (Preston Teagardin)

Robert Pattinson

Robert Pattinson has come a long way from when he burst onto the scenes as Edward Cullen in Twilight, but there is no doubt his role as the vampire is still how he's best known. But his performance in The Devil All The Time was a very strong one, playing the reverend who abused several young girls.

He is known for his involvement in the Harry Potter franchise, as well as being in Tenet. However, his biggest role is yet to come, as he is taking on the role of Batman in the next release relating to the Dark Knight.

Harry Melling (Roy Laferty)

Dudley and Roy

Speaking of Harry Potter, this is where Harry Melling is certainly best known. Harry was only a young boy when he burst into the world of acting and he did so in one of the biggest franchises of all time, playing the character of Dudley Dursley.

He had a much bigger role in this Netflix original though. Melling was really able to showcase his acting ability as the crazed Roy Laferty who became consumed by God to the point where he believes he can resurrect people from the dead.

Mia Wasikowska (Helen Laferty)

Alice In Wonderland - Helen Laferty

Mia Wasikowska played the slightly gullible and naive Helen, who ends up marrying Roy during the movie. That decision leads to her death in the end due to his own issues, but it is a role that Mia plays really well as the sweet and innocent woman who falls prey to Roy's psychotic evangelism.

However, this role is a far cry from what she is best-known for and she is most famous for playing Alice in the Disney live-action Alice in Wonderland movies.

Eliza Scanlen (Lenora Laferty)

Little Women - Devil All The Time

Eliza Scanlen plays the daughter of Helen and Roy, Lenora Laferty. She has to grow up without either parent in her life and this certainly impacts the way she behaves.

Eliza plays the role very well, which is no surprise due to her fantastic talent as an actress. Audiences will likely recognize Eliza from her role in Little Women, where she plays Beth March.

Riley Keough (Sandy Henderson)

Mad Max - Devil All The Time

Riley Keough is one of the real highlights from The Devil All The Time, as she has to play the emotionally torn character, Sandy Henderson. Trapped in a marriage she clearly despises and having to do some sadistic things, the mental torment she goes through is difficult, but it is acted perfectly.

Riley is a tremendous actress, and she is best known for her role within Mad Max: Fury Road. She played one of the wives in the movie, having a key part in the overall plot of the film.

Sebastian Stan (Lee Bodecker)

Sebastian Stan

Sebastian Stan is one of the most well-known faces within The Devil All The Time, and he plays the corrupt Sheriff very well throughout the movie. Lee Bodecker isn't someone who is just out to do good for the love of the job, as he wants to do everything for himself and his own gain.

However, in the role he is best known for, Sebastian Stan gets to be a true hero. That's because he is Bucky Barnes (The Winter Soldier) in the MCU. It's one of the biggest roles in the MCU and one of the most complex characters in the huge universe.

Haley Bennett (Charlotte Russell)

Haley Bennett

Charlotte Russell isn't in the film as long as most other characters, due to her death fairly early on in the movie. However, she certainly plays a key role in the movie, showcasing great compassion and kindness.

Aside from being involved in this film, Haley Bennett thrived in movies such as Marley & Me, Music and Lyrics, where she gets to showcase her singing ability, and another darker psychological film based on a book, The Girl on the Train.

Bill Skarsgård (Willard Russell)

Skarsgård

The Skarsgård family has been heavily involved in the movie world for many years, and Bill Skarsgård is quickly following in the footsteps of his other family members. He plays the complex Willard Russell in The Devil All The Time, who is someone who gets consumed by religion, which leads him to make some dark decisions.

Tapping into that dark side of life is something that he's had plenty practice with though, as Skarsgård plays Pennywise the Clown in the recent IT remakes. He did a fantastic job with what is such an iconic character, totally transforming into the terrifying clown.

Jason Clarke (Carl Henderson)

Jason Clarke

Jason Clarke is a very talented actor and, once again, he showcases this in this film, even though he plays the very unlikeable Carl Henderson. Henderson is a photographer and serial killer in the film, and someone who doesn't treat his wife well either.

He's been involved in several major films in his career, from Terminator Genysis and Zero Dark Thirty to Everest. However, Clarke is best known for his role in Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, playing a big part in the success of the incredible trilogy.

Tom Holland (Arvin Russell)

Tom Holland

Tom Holland takes on the lead role in this film, portraying the young adult version of Arvin Russell. It was a great role for him to flex a different acting muscle of his, taking on a more serious and adult topic compared to some of his more well-known roles.

Audiences will best know Tom for his portrayal of Spider-Man in the MCU, which has proven to be incredibly popular. However, he has also dipped his toes into the voice-acting world with Pixar's Onward and Spies In Disguise.
