PlayStation’s upcoming exclusive, Destruction AllStars just got a flashy, hectic trailer detailing the game’s many colorful competitors before its release next month. The game is billed as a no-holds-barred destruction derby featuring a cast of driven rivals searching for glory. The vehicular combat title was originally revealed last summer but suffered some setbacks that pushed its launch window back into early this year. With the unfortunate news of the delay, however, came the more positive announcement that the game would be making its eventual debut on PlayStation Plus.

PlayStation Plus is a subscription service that allows PlayStation owners to connect to online games and also offers monthly free games. Those players that are up-to-date with the fees for the service this month were granted access to January's trifold offering of titles. Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Greedfall, and Maneater are all up for grabs this month for PlayStation Plus members. Maneater may be especially interesting for players to pick up considering the developer, Tripwire Interactive, recently hinted that post-launch DLC is on the horizon.

Next month’s addition to PlayStation Plus, Destruction AllStars, just got a brand-new trailer on PlayStation’s official YouTube channel introducing the game’s fueled-up drivers.  The blurb below the video describes the characters in over-the-top language, giving the drivers titles like “heroes” and “global sensations.” It also explains that there will be a total of sixteen diverse AllStars to choose from, each hoping to win the “Global Destruction Federation Championship.” However, the video only highlights about half that number, perhaps to give each character a moment in the sun while staying under a two-minute run time.

Subscription service news has not been limited to PlayStation Plus this month as Microsoft’s counterpart services have seen a share of headlines recently, and not always for the best reasons. Five games will be making it onto the Xbox Games With Gold roster next month. The star of the group is arguably Gears 5, though the title will be accompanied by Resident Evil, Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb, Dandara: Trials of Fear Edition, and Lost Planet 2. Unfortunately, Microsoft recently announced that it would be raising its fee for Xbox Live Gold. The annual fee which was once $60 will soon cost subscribers nearly $120.

There has been no indication that PlayStation Plus plans on reevaluating its cost any time soon, but there is a little cloud of concern hanging over Destruction AllStars, a title that is supposed to come to the service next month. While it is easy to get lost in the fun, chaotic nature of the trailer, it is notable that the video does not include an exact release date. That could be nothing, but for a game that has already been delayed once before, the omission is not reassuring.
