Along with the highly anticipated Destiny 2 expansion DLC The Witch Queen comes a jam-packed Deluxe Edition and a Deluxe + 30th Anniversary bundle, but how do they stack up against each other? Putting aside the standard edition that comes with all The Witch Queen DLC and the collector's edition that comes with both the DLC and some physical goodies like a Hive Ghost replica, The Witch Queen's Deluxe Edition and 30th Anniversary bundle offer something different. Price-wise, the former is $79.99, and the latter is $99.99; the choice depends largely upon whether the additional perks of the 30th Anniversary Pack are worth it to the individual player.

Making her appearance in the Destiny 2 Witch Queen trailer, the Witch Queen, aka, Savathûn, is the sister of Oryx, the Taken King, who also had an expansion pack in Destiny. The Witch Queen is the fourth major expansion in Destiny 2, following Forsaken, Shadowkeep, and Beyond Light. The Witch Queen DLC will expand upon Destiny 2's existing story and bring a plethora of quality-of-life improvements and a new weapon crafting system.

The Witch Queen Deluxe Edition includes the expansion pack and gives players access to Destiny 2's battle passes (or seasons, as they're called) from 16 to 19, an exotic SMG, two year-five dungeons, assorted cosmetics, and a catalyst to upgrade weapons. The 30th Anniversary bundle comes with all the same Deluxe Edition content, but also adds the 30th Anniversary Pack, which includes a host of cosmetics, a new dungeon, and exotic weapons inspired by "past Bungie worlds," adding to the list of Destiny 2's exotic primaries.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen's Deluxe Edition Vs. 30th Anniversary Bundle

Destiny 2 The Witch Queen's Deluxe & 30th Anniversary Editions.

The Witch Queen DLC's Deluxe Edition is already a fair investment over the standard, and gives players access to the next four seasons and two year-five dungeons - already a lot of content. Bungie's 30th Anniversary bundle adds the 30th Anniversary Pack, which is normally available separately for $24.99 (offering a $5 savings compared to buying it separately from the Deluxe Edition), and this means players get access to the celebratory pack of new weapons, a new three-player dungeon, an exotic ship and Sparrow, plus a handful of cosmetics. The new dungeon is probably the biggest draw, and may be worth the price for those who demand the most out of their Destiny 2 experience, though others may not feel it's worth the price of entry.

Destiny 2's Witch Queen's Deluxe Edition and the 30th Anniversary bundle offer everything needed to play The Witch Queen upon release, along with some extra goodies, but whether or not Destiny 2's Witch Queen expansion is truly worth the extra money compared to its standard edition is a matter for each player to decide for themselves. Casual fans may be content with the standard edition, and even some hardcore players may find that the extra money for the 30th Anniversary Pack's content is just a few dollars too far.
