An encounter in Destiny 2's latest raid, Vow of the Disciple, has been beaten in a solo run and developers are impressed. The first-person shooter developed by Bungie is played by millions of fans around the world, and it is always being updated with incredible and intense new content. The new expansion for Destiny 2, The Witch Queen, brings with it a brand new raid for players to tackle. The Vow of the Disciple raid pits players against relentless enemies and challenging puzzles which reward the victors with new weapons and gear.

A raid is one of the most challenging endgame activities in Destiny 2 and it usually requires a full Fireteam of six Guardians. Vow of the Disciple is recommended for teams of Guardians with a Power Level of 1530. With the level cap now at 1550, players would want to be as high as they can get and be fairly skilled at the game to take on a raid solo. Players are bombarded with enemies as they make their way into an ancient pyramid located in Savathûn's Throne World. Then, while attempting to complete a series of intricate puzzles, the Guardians must survive the devastating bosses that join the battle, before finally claiming their rewards.

It seems the first player to complete a part of Destiny 2's Vow of the Disciple raid solo has emerged. In a video posted on YouTube, Destiny 2 player Baxlyy shared their victory. Baxlyy claims to have spent an incredible 35 hours in-game trying to complete the raid encounter solo, and finally managed to get it done with a little bit of patience and a lot of skill. The feat was so impressive that Bungie Community Manager dmg04 responded with pure incredulity.

Destiny 2 has an incredible number of fans that create videos and guides on the latest content. From how to find special weapons and gear to the best strategies for taking down large bosses, there are plenty of tips and tricks being shared by players. Baxlyy has already gotten over 90,000 views on this video so it's likely that other skilled Guardians will work to complete the Vow of the Disciple raid solo - perhaps even the full thing. With the competitive spirit from MMO players and content creators this could soon turn into a race for who can complete the raid the quickest. For now, Baxlyy seems to be the first player to complete a portion solo.

Developers of Destiny 2 love to challenge players with fun and exciting new content and players love to take on those challenges in very difficult ways. Taking on an activity intended for six high-level players by themselves is clearly an intense challenge for any player, but Baxlyy has proven that it can be done.

UPDATE: 03/17/22 This article has been updated to better reflect the entirety of Destiny 2's Vow of the Disciple was not beaten solo.
