Season of the Chosen in Destiny 2 launched on February 9, 2021 and has experienced a relatively strong debut. Pitting players against the Cabal after Zavala refused to bow to their might and link the Vanguard to them as their ally, Beyond Light’s new season introduces Battlegrounds, where Guardians unite to complete a series of objectives while combatting the Cabal. This new content is a crucial addition to Destiny 2, as main quests and items must be accomplished and collected through the participation and completion of these missions.
Like previous seasons, players will acquire a new artifact to level and unlock mods and increase their Guardians’ Power level. Moreover, like Season of the Hunt’s Cryptolith Lure, players will need to utilize an item that resides in their Quests tab once obtained. This new piece of equipment is the Hammer of Proving, which will require gamers to go through the new main story content in Season of the Chosen.
How to Unlock the Hammer of Proving in Destiny 2
To unlock the Hammer of Proving in Destiny 2: Beyond Light, Guardians will have to complete the introductory mission in Season of the Chosen. The first mission launches players into their first Battleground, tasking them with fighting Cabal while trying to destroy shield generators to progress to the next phase. Once finishing this Battleground, gamers will need to go to the Traveler’s Tower above the EDZ.
Getting past the first Battleground will unlock the new social area for players: The H.E.L.M. This social area serves as a new command center for Zavala and the rest of the Vanguard. After loading into the Tower (or even before), players can click on The H.E.L.M.’s giant turquoise chevron in the upper left corner of the Tower’s map to launch into it like any other mission or location.
Inside the H.E.L.M., Guardians will approach the War Table to speak with Crow, Osiris, and Zavala to begin a new quest: The Challenger’s Proving. This quest rewards people with the Hammer of Proving, which players must fill with Cabal Gold. Cabal Gold is acquired by completing playlist activities and other tasks and feats in Destiny 2 Season of the Chosen. From there, players have a little bit of a grind ahead of them, but that should not shock anyone in this phase of Destiny 2’s life cycle.
