Frustration for Destiny 2: Beyond Light’s players as Trials of Osiris is disabled for a third week in a row. Bungie has been having issues with players cheating in the PvP game mode for some time now and was forced to disable it a few weeks ago. This week the mode is still disabled, but thanks to a whole new problem arising.

Trials of Osiris is a Player vs Player team deathmatch game mode in Destiny 2 where fireteams face off against one another for in-game rewards. Guardians need a Trials Passage token to enter, which can be purchased from Brother Vance in the Vestian Outpost in The Reef. Players can continue playing the mode until they have accumulated three losses, at which point a new token is needed to re-enter. If a team is able to win 9 matches without a single loss they can access the Lighthouse, where the players can find rare loot exclusive to this location. Usually, the Trials of Osiris can only be played between Fridays and Tuesdays, with all-new rewards available to win each week.

According to the official Bungie Help Twitter account, Bungie has decided to disable Trials of Osiris for yet another weekend due to a strange bug occurring with the Fireteam Rejoin functionality. While this reasoning is certainly different from the problems that have been popping up around the Trials of Osiris game mode over the past few weeks, it seems strange that just this one mode is having issues in such a small period of time.

Originally, the Trials of Osiris was disabled due to players engaging in “win trading”, signaling to other players through a specific emblem to throw matches on purpose. Through this method, players were able to reach the Lighthouse and receive the rare gear and weapons usually only earned by Guardians who have had to earn this loot the hard way, getting a 9 win-streak in Trials of Osiris.

This is also not the only issue Bungie has been dealing with recently, with various game bugs plaguing the game over the past few months. These issues may be due to Bungie having to transition to working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic. The next expansion for Destiny 2 has also been delayed due to this reason, with Destiny 2's Witch Queen not releasing until 2022.
