Destiny 2 players eager to take on the newly re-opened Trials of Osiris need to take one crucial step to protect their winnings first. Trials of Osiris returned at the start of Destiny 2’s Season of the Worthy, along with a host of other changes and a new round of seasonal content.

In addition to the Trials of Osiris and the new activities that come with every change of seasons, Destiny 2 got some less expected tweaks in early March as well. Some of Destiny 2’s best Exotic armor was nerfed, and Legendary weapons changed the way that they’ll scale in power from now on. Perhaps even more unexpectedly, Bungie announced that it would be eliminating loot boxes by removing Bright Engrams from Destiny 2’s Eververse store at the start of the new season.

Of all the new changes coming with Season of the Worthy, the return of Trials of Osiris was one of the most anticipated. The end-game activity made its first appearance in the original Destiny and immediately proved to be a popular part of the game. After a long absence, it’s returning to Destiny 2, rewarding winners with powerful gear and bragging rights in the form of coveted emblems. However, Bungie is warning that players will need to make some room in their inventory first if they want to claim them. According to the developer, the Trials Tokens awarded for participating in the mode can’t be stored with the Postmaster, where items usually go when a player doesn’t have enough room to carry them. That means that players will have to have an open spot in their consumables inventory before they receive Trials Tokens. Bungie creative lead Lars Bakken also noted that emblems earned for going Flawless will follow the same restrictions, so players should clear space in emblem storage as well.

Even before the latest announcement, some of Bungie’s decisions for this round of Trials were already raising eyebrows. The Artifacts introduced to Destiny 2 for the Shadowkeep expansion were initially going to lend their bonuses to players in Trials, meaning that players who had leveled them up would have an advantage. After fierce opposition from players, Bungie quickly walked that decision back, putting all players back on an even playing field.

Given how long Destiny 2 players have been waiting to get back into Trials of Osiris and how tough the competition is, there could be pandemonium if they start finding that they’re not getting rewards for their wins. Hopefully competitive players hear Bungie’s warning before taking on the top-tier challenge.
