Silver Ash is a currency that Guardians will need to use in order to upgrade their armor throughout the Solstice event in Destiny 2, and it's a resource that has a limited source. Every year, the annual Solstice event that takes place in the summer changes ever so slightly, while keeping key features like the EAZ. This year, some of the changes include the Silver Ash, Kindling, and Silver Leaves currencies, which intertwine with one another to upgrade the Solstice armor in Destiny 2.
Before Guardians can get their hands on Silver Ash, they'll first have to speak with the Solstice host, Eva Levante. As per usual during annual events in Destiny 2, Eva Levante can be found in the Tower standing aside the festive redesign of the main area. Everything that Guardians need to get started with the festivities is already in their inventory, including the opening Celebrating Solstice quest. Once Guardians speak with Eva Levante and complete the first step of the quest they'll earn their first Solstice armor set. Equipping the armor is a key part of being able to earn Silver Ash, and more of the currency can be earned with every equipped piece.
Silver Ash can only be obtained after completing the Bonfire Bash activity when Guardians interact with the first itself to burn their Silver Leaves. Stoking the flames and finishing the activity will also help Guardians complete their challenges in the Solstice Event Card, rewarding them with the Kindling material that is also needed for upgrading the Solstice armor. Players need to keep in mind that Silver Leaves will not become Silver Ash automatically at the end of the Bonfire Bash activity. Instead, they have to take it a step further and directly interact with the fire.
How To Use Silver Ash In Destiny 2
As mentioned, more Silver Ash can be earned at the end of Bonfire Bash for every additional piece of Candescent armor that is equipped. With enough Silver Ash collected, alongside Kindling, Guardians can then upgrade their Solstice armor to the next tier. This will reroll the armor's stats, most likely resulting in armor that further increases character stats in Destiny 2. Further upgrades will require more Silver Ash than the previous one.
While Silver Ash can only be obtained in the Bonfire Bash activity, the Silver Leaves that are needed to make it are easier to obtain. As long as Guardians are wearing their Candescent armor, they'll obtain Silver Leaves from any completed activity. Activities that can be completed with a lower Power Level in Destiny 2 may prove to be the easiest way to obtain Silver Leaves at first since the Solstice armor initially has low stats.
