In Destiny 2, Guardians can get a new Exotic introduced in Season of the Lost called Second Chance. Second Chance is a Titan Exotic gauntlet that has a new per called Myrmidon's Reach, where an extra Shield Throw melee charge is given to Void Titans and it gives the melee ability Anti-Barrier Champion capabilities. Without failure, a Shield Throw will pierce and stun a Barrier Champion who has thrown their shield up in order to heal. Given that Barrier Champion are frequently featured in endgame PvE content, Second Chance has the possibility to become a great option when Grandmaster Nightfalls return.

Although the Arblest Linear Fusion Rifle is one of the most used options for dealing with Barrier Champions in Destiny 2, one of the benefits of using Second Chance is that melee energy only ever needs to recharge. Titans won't have to worry about equipping an Anti-Barrier Champion mod or weapon, and instead can use that armor mod slot to synergize with the melee ability. For example, a Void armor mod for gauntlets called Focusing Strike regenerates Class Ability energy whenever players get a charged melee kill. Normally an Anti-Champion mod would go here, but with Second Chance equipped, Titans will be able to select a mod that further capitalizes on two charged melee attacks.

In addition to Nightfalls, Barrier Champions can be faced in Legend and Master Lost Sectors, as well as the Master difficulty for the new Duality dungeon in Destiny 2. Having Second Chance equipped instead of using an Anti-Barrier Champion weapon also means that Titans can equip the Witherhoard Grenade Launcher and still use their Energy weapon to counter the other type of Champion in the activity. The fact that Titans can use Witherhoard now without sacrificing an Anti-Champion mod significantly improves the Void Titan viability for completing Solo Flawless activities.

How To Unlock The Second Chance Titan Exotic In Destiny 2

Second Chance can only be unlocked by completing Legend and Master Lost Sectors. The daily Legend and Master Lost Sector rotate along with the reset, in addition to what kind of Exotic armor will be rewarded. There are 11 Lost Sectors this rotation, as well as four different types of Exotic armor pieces.

Completing a Legend or Master Lost Sector in Destiny 2 can be a difficult challenge, and there is no guarantee that each completion will reward an Exotic armor piece. However, only by completing the activity solo can Guardians get an Exotic armor reward. Finishing the activity with one or more fireteam members will prevent the reward from dropping. Lastly, completing a Lost Sector solo on Master difficulty offers the highest probability of getting Second Chance when Exotic gauntlets are available as a reward, but the activity is much more grueling than Legendary.
