The first week of Season of the Haunted challenges can be completed in Destiny 2, officially kicking off the next chapter of the game's story. In addition to the return of new seasonal challenges every week in Destiny 2Season of the Haunted brings new weapons, a new destination, and a complete rework of the Solar subclass for Warlocks, Hunters, and Titans. Upon launching into the game for the first time after the Season 17 update, Guardians will immediately be thrust into the action aboard the Derelict Leviathan.

Upon landing on Calus's planet-devouring ship, Guardians can immediately equip their Solar 3.0 subclass in Destiny 2 with all Aspects available. However, in order to unlock all of the Fragments and Grenade abilities, players will need to visit Ikora in the Tower after the seasonal introductory mission is over. Just as the Void 3.0 Fragments and Grenades had to be purchased with Glimmer in Season of the Risen, players will need to spend their Glimmer to unlock the missing items. Afterward, a quick meditation session at Ikora's post will unlock everything purchased.

The Season of the Haunted will focus on the return of the massive ship, its connection to the Pyramid on the Moon, the Nightmares that have left the Moon to torment the Vanguard and Cabal aboard the Leviathan, and emperor Calus's return in Destiny 2. Before diving into the content of the season, Guardians will want to pick up the Nightmare Harvester seasonal artifact at the H.E.L.M. from the Crown of Sorrow. There's a lot of ground to cover within Season 17, and once players have the Nightmare Harvester they can begin completing the first week of challenges for XP, Bright Dust, and a new seasonal item called Figments of Darkness.

The Crown of Sorrow Found In Destiny 2's H.E.L.M.

Much like the Insight that players could earn for the War Table in Season of the Risen, Figments of Darkness allow Guardians to upgrade the Crown of Sorrow for new abilities and rewards. The upgrades apply to the activities aboard the Derelict Leviathan, and some of the rewards include new weapons in Destiny 2, Season 17. As Guardians continue to explore the new content in the game, they'll also be able to earn Opulent Umbral Energy to redeem weapons directly from the Crown of Sorrow.
