The first Iron Banner week in Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer kicked off Tuesday, June 8, and introduced the newest weapon to be sought after for PvP - the Riiswalker Shotgun. This lightweight frame shotgun is a monster in Crucible and has already taken the community by storm for the most sought-after rolls.

Like all weapons of Iron Banner, this weapon is only available until the Tuesday weekly reset at 1 p.m. Players who have missed out on this new weapon will have to wait until the next Iron Banner week, set to be mid-July. The shotgun offers a wide range of perks and is a kinetic weapon. It pairs nicely with weapons like Gnawing Hunger, Graviton Lance, The Third Axiom, and Bottom Dollar.

Destiny 2: Riiswalker Shotgun & God Roll

Destiny 2 Riiswalker Shotgun Season Splicer Gameplay

The Riiswalker's potential rolls are great, even at their worst, making it a weapon that should be on every Guardian's to-get list. The only guaranteed way to acquire the Riiswalker shotgun is by completing the third step of the Iron banner quest, "Adversarial Relations." Outside of the quest, there is a chance players can unlock the shotgun from completing Lord Saladin's bounties. Completing Iron Banner matches and bounties also rewards players with Iron Banner Tokens, usable through Lord Saladin to receive an Iron Banner Engram. New engrams can be acquired after every 20 tokens are exchanged.

The Riiswalker's weak points are its range and stability, so the first perks players should look for are the Smallbore or Corkscrew Rifling barrels. These barrels will add to the Riiswalker's range and stability, and the Corkscrew Rifling barrel even adds on some additional handling skill points. The magazine perk has two ideal choices with the Assault Mag (stability and rounds per minute) or Accurized Rounds (range), but the Tactical Mag (stability, reload speed, magazine size) is a good runner-up perk for this weapon as well.

The combat perks really make this shotgun stand out in Destiny 2, as some of the prime options to aim for are Slideways, reloads the weapon while sliding, or Quickdraw, allowing players to pull the weapon out very quickly. Firmly planted is another great choice, as it increases accuracy, stability, and handling while firing when crouched - and this includes sliding. Finally, the last perks players should aim for are Iron Reach or Killing Wind. Iron Reach improves the range of the shotgun greatly (20 points) while reducing the stability (-30). Ideally, players are using one shot to defeat their enemies, thus negating a worry for stability loss. Killing Wind increases player mobility, handling, and weapon range for a short time after a kill, making it perfect for players who are aggressive in 2v1 situations.

PvP isn't every Guardian's thing, however, and luckily the Riiswalker has some perks to make it suitable for Destiny 2's Stikes and other events. While players should still shoot for the first three perks, the fourth perk gives a bit of wiggle room for an ideal PvE drop. Unrelenting, Vorpal Weapon, Demolitionist, and Swashbuckler are all available perks for Riiswalker.
