Raising Destiny 2’s Guardian Ranks can be quite easy and fast depending on the player’s tasks at hand. Guardian Ranks were introduced as a quality-of-life improvement with Year 6 of Bungie’s online shooter, which was kicked off by the Lightfall expansion. Guardian Ranks are a way of evaluating what players have done in the game so far, ranking them, and giving them new tasks so that they can reach higher levels and be better evaluated.

For new players that start at Guardian Rank early levels, they will need to be introduced to the game with the New Light questline to ascend, while veteran players at higher levels will need to put more effort into the many quests at hand. There are a total of 11 Guardian Ranks in Destiny 2’s Year 6, and raising through them can be quite simple if players know what they need to do.

Focus On & Grind Destiny 2’s Guardian Rank Objectives

The first step to raising Guardian Ranks in Destiny 2 is acknowledging what rank players are at and what they need to do to get to the next level. The secret to easily and quickly raising through the ranks is to thoroughly focus on the tasks at hand and grind through them.

After completing all the objectives attributed to the current Guardian Rank, players need only visit the Ironwood Tree in the Tower, which was recently added with Destiny 2’s Lightfall expansion and the start of Year 6, and perform the ascension ceremony.

The main issue after Guardian Rank 6 - Veteran in Destiny 2 is the sheer amount of objectives to complete. Along with tasks that can be completed at any moment, players also have some objectives which reset with every season.

Players will have to grind before the season’s end to actually be able to rise to the next rank before having their progress reset.

Higher Guardian Ranks require harder activities to be completed, either on higher levels or solo – and sometimes both. Players who want to max out the Guardian Ranks in Destiny 2 will need to not only be dedicated to completing the objectives themselves but actually improve their gameplay performance. Additionally, Guardian Rank 7 already requires that players complete Raids, such as the King’s Fall Raid in Destiny 2, meaning they will need companions to join them in the activity.

Luckily, the objectives provided by each Guardian Rank in Destiny 2 are quite straightforward and do not require alternative forms of interpretation or the unraveling of secrets. By marking the tasks at hand and focusing on completing them, one by one, players should be able to rise to the next level without any major issues.

Of course, some will require calling upon friends or using the LFG (Looking for Group) function on developer Bungie’s official platforms. Guardian Ranks are but one of the many new additions to the game in Year 6, which also includes the Strand element in Destiny 2, as well as new armor, weapons, story, and more.
