The Matador 64 is one of several fan-favorite Destiny weapons that players can get now in Destiny 2 with the launch of the 30th Anniversary event. The Matador 64 joins the Destiny 2 arsenal as an Arc Energy Precision Frame Shotgun, and it's the only non-slug Legendary Shotgun in the Energy weapon slot. In addition to its Destiny 2 debut, Matador 64 can roll with new perks that have only just been introduced in Season of the Lost.

The Matador 64 joins the array of Destiny 2 weapons like the Eyasluna Hand Cannon, the 1,000 Yard Stare Sniper Rifle, and the Hero of Ages Sword in making a return from the first Destiny. The only other non-slug Legendary shotgun in Destiny 2 is the Fractethyst Stasis shotgun. Although the two weapon types take up different weapon slots, all players should want a god roll Matador 64 to have more versatility with their Kinetic weapon of choice.

Unfortunately, only players who have the 30th Anniversary pack can get a Matador 64. The Matador 64 is a drop from Destiny 2's newest dungeon, the Grasp of Avarice. The Grasp of Avarice dungeon can only be accessed once players obtain the "And Out Fly The Wolves" exotic quest from Xur in Eternity. Complete the opening Dares of Eternity activity upon logging into any character after finishing the 30th Anniversary update, then travel to the new Eternity map location. The new Destiny 2 Gjallarhorn Rocket Launcher and its Catalyst are obtained through the "And Out Fly The Wolves" quest and take players through the Grasp of Avarice dungeon for the first time.

Shotguns tend to be a more favorable choice for PvP content in Destiny 2 over PvE, but that doesn't stop the Matador 64 from having some fantastic perk combinations. The Matador 64 can roll with a new perk called Golden Tricorn, where final blows with this weapon grant bonus damage. Additionally, grenade or melee kills of the same damage type significantly increase the buff's duration and damage when active. The Matador 64 can also roll with Perpetual Motion, which improves its handling, reload speed, and stability while in motion. Threat Detector is a similar perk to Perpetual Motion that the Matador 64 can drop with instead, increasing reload speed, stability, and handling only when enemies are in close proximity. Finally, the Matador 64 can be paired with Destiny 2's new Forerunner Exotic Sidearm for a mobile and deadly combination in PvE and PvP.

Matador 64's PvE God Roll Perks:

  • Barrel Shroud
  • Assault Mag
  • Perpetual Motion
  • Golden Tricorn

Matador 64's PvP God Roll Perks:

  • Full Choke
  • Accurized Rounds
  • Perpetual Motion
  • Opening Shot
