The 30th Anniversary Pack for Destiny 2 introduced plenty of new content into the game, including the new 6-player matchmade activity 'Dares of Eternity'. Because Destiny 2's Dares of Eternity is the newest matchmade activity in the game, players will be pulled into the new activity after a bit of dialogue from Xur as soon they select their character's from the main menu, just like at the beginning of each season. This is convenient for returning players looking to get back into Destiny and try its new content, but, the game is also loading New Lights (new players) into the activity with absolutely no context as to what is going on or how to play. So, veteran players are now lowering their power levels to rescue new players in The Dares of Eternity.

The Dares of Eternity is an 1150 power level activity with hoards of mobs and bosses that can be difficult to take down without the right loadouts. New light players start at power level 1100 and do not have access to any of the game's powerful weapons like the Gjallarhorn rocket launcher. On top of that, they are 50 levels below the required power, they have no abilities unlocked, and they have no idea how to actually play the game. All of this while Xur and a space horse provide commentary in a space-like "Wheel of Fortune" game with guns; it just doesn't make for the best first impression for new players. Luckily, the Destiny community has rallied to help these new players conquer the activity (or at least tell new players how to return to orbit).

Destiny players with lower power levels, or sunsetted gear in their vaults, are re-equipping their old favorites to lower their own power levels and rescue the newbies stuck in Dares of Eternity. Any Destiny players with gear under 1150 or close to it can take part in Dares rescue missions. Helping new lights through the activity will not only give them a wholesome impression of the game and its community but also get them really good rewards to start their adventures off with, like Destiny 2's Halo-Esque weapons.

How To Help New Lights Stuck in Destiny 2's Dares of Eternity

All players have to do to help new light players in Destiny's Dares of Eternity is head into their vault and equip pieces of gear that will lower them close to 1150 or even 1100 power level. Players should try to keep one of this season's meta weapons on them in order to be able to help clear mobs and bosses efficiently. Warlocks using Well of Radiance, as well as Titan's using Weapons of Light, will be two big helps here, as all players in the fireteam will be doing much less damage than they are used to on top of being easier to kill. The Well will keep the fireteam alive while the bubble will allow the fireteam to keep their damage output up. Combine that with a few of this season's Wayfinder artifact mods, and players should be completing their rescue missions in no time.

The Destiny community can sometimes be a mixed bag of toxicity and wholesomeness that its players have become quite familiar with in the past. Participating in a Dares of the Eternity rescue mission is perhaps the most wholesome activity players have been able to do in Destiny and could change a new player's standpoint on the whole experience. Loading into this activity as a new player is surely confusing, so it's up to the community right now to help new players through it. Bungie has even commented on the recent rescue missions, saying players will be rewarded if they participate in them.
