The Catalyst for Ager's Scepter is finally available in Destiny 2, just in time for players who want to learn how to get it and make this Exotic Trace Rifle even more powerful. Ager's Scepter became available to use in Season of the Lost during week four, and it's proven to be one of the most potent Exotic weapons in all of Destiny 2. Ager's Scepter already had two fantastic perks available - Rega's Refrain and Ager's Call.

Rega's Refrain takes ammo from reserves and transfers it to Ager's magazine upon Stasis final blows. Ager's Call creates a slowing area-of-effect around defeated targets, affecting nearby enemies. Together, these perks make the Ager's Scepter Trace Rifle one of the best PvE weapons in Destiny 2, particularly because of its additional enemy clearing potential. Its Catalyst adds a third perk called Will Given Form.

Will Given Form takes a Guardian's fully charged Super energy and overflows the magazine, increases the damage of the Stasis beam, and increases the Ager's Scepter's ability to freeze and slow targets. Will Given Form will drain the Super while it's active. The perk's effects end once the Super is drained, on a reload, or if the weapon is stowed. Before the Catalyst can be used, however, it has to be earned and unlocked.

How To Get Ager's Scepter Catalyst In Destiny 2

Destiny 2 Ager's Scepter

The only way to get the Catalyst for Ager's Scepter is by opening Wayfinder's Troves at the end of the Astral Alignment activity. It costs 100 Parallax Trajectory to unlock the chest, so it seems simple enough. Unfortunately, it's a completely random drop with no "bad luck protection." After Season of the Lost is finished, the next way to unlock the Catalyst will be to complete Nightfall Strikes in Destiny 2, but there is plenty of time before this season ends.

Once the Ager's Scepter Catalyst has been earned, players must make a certain percentage of kills with Ager's Scepter. Precision kills will generate more "Targets defeated" progress. Like all Catalysts, multi-kills with Ager's Scepter will generate Orbs of Power - regenerating a Guardian's Super upon pick-up.

As an Exotic weapon that takes up the Kinetic slot, it's hard to nail down what other two weapons synergize nicely with Ager's Scepter. A loadout with a lot of potential is Ager's Scepter, Wolftone Draw, and Reed's Regret. Equipping a Wolftone Draw Bow will allow players to handle Overload Champions, while Reed's Regret can deal significant damage to bosses with Particle Deconstruction and stop the Unstoppable Champions.
