Destiny 2 continues to implement new ways to improve and repurpose old content as time goes on. Before the Season of the Chosen began, Bungie had confirmed that four Dreaming City weapons would be returning to the weapon pool, leaving three to be unobtained. These four weapons could only be acquired through activities completed in the Dreaming City.

Thanks to a recent Bungie blog post, players received confirmation that plenty of new items will be incorporated into the loot pool in early July. This follows immediately after the next week of Iron Banner, taking place from June 29 to July 6. In addition to the Moon weapons, the blog post also confirmed that the remaining Dreaming City weapons will be returning to the loot pool.

Destiny 2: How to Get Reissued Dreaming City Gear

Unlock Dreaming City Destiny 2 Forsaken Guide

Unlike the reissued Moon gear, the Dreaming City gear can only be obtained through quests, hidden challenges, or challenges bound to a timeline or specific items. Most of these challenges can only be completed once per week per character, but in a few instances, there are challenges that don't respawn and are account bound - meaning the challenge progression is shared among all Destiny 2 characters associated with a profile. While most of the Dreaming City gear has already been unsunsetted, the reaming weapons that will be returning are:

  • Tigerspite (Auto Rifle)
  • Abide the Return (Sword)
  • Twilight Oath (Sniper Rifle)

Additionally, these weapons will all be returning with a refreshed perk pool with the perks added to Destiny 2 in Year 3 and Year 4. Players can acquire these weapons and all Dreaming City through the Shattered Throne dungeon, story missions, bounties, Queen Bounties, Offering to the Oracle, Corrupted Eggs, Blind Well, and Cat Statues.

Inside the Shattered Throne dungeon are encounters that will drop a random piece of Dreaming City gear after the first completion each week per character. The labyrinth encounter, fight against Vorgeth, and the Dul Incaru boss fight gives one piece of Dreaming City loot. Any armor received during this dungeon will typically have a roll of 60 or higher total stat points - perfect for players in need of better gear.

Additionally, two hidden chests in the dungeon will grant a random piece of gear. The first is beyond the Thrall Hallway, requiring players to jump over the railing instead of diverting to the left path. Land on the railing below, turn around and the chest can be found in front of a portal. The second chest is just after the fight against Vorgeth, requiring players to run to the right side of the elevator. This chest will require players to have the Tincture of Queensfoil in order to spawn platforms that form a pathway to the chest.

Story Missions that provide a random piece of gear are bounties that Petra Venj sells each weak. They unlock missions tied to the Dreaming City. Depending on the strength of the curse, one of these three missions can be completed once a week per character. Finishing one of these three missions allows players to turn it in for Dreaming City gear:

  • Broken Courier
  • The Oracle Engine
  • Dark Monastery

Ascendant Challenges allow players to farm two pieces of gear every week, per character. Completing a challenge for the first time for the week will grant a random piece of Dreaming City loot. Petra Venj sells an Ascendant Challenge weekly bounty that drops a random piece of Dreaming City gear upon its completion. The challenge is to complete an Ascendant Challenge, doubling the rewards received for the week if acquired before the Ascendant Challenge is completed. Ascendant Challenges appear to players who consume a Tincture of Queensfoil.

War for the Dreaming City Bounties also drop a piece of random Dreaming City gear. This is the typical vendor challenge that requires players to complete eight bounties for the week. This challenge can also be completed once per week per character.

The final bounty that can be completed is known as the Purification Ritual or Queen's Bounty. Whenever an activity or bounty is completed in the Dreaming City there is a small chance that one of these bounties will drop. The bounty does not expire and requires players to complete certain tasks while Ascendant. A Tincture of Queensfoil will need to be consumed here as well.

The Offering to the Oracle is a consumable item obtained from the Gateway Between Worlds bounty, requiring players to complete Blind Well runs. Tier IV runs (using a Tier III and an Unstable Charge in one run) completes 50 percent of bounty progress. Once complete, turn in the bounty to receive the offering by traveling to the Spine of Keres on the western edge of the map. Head towards and enter an Awoken tower. Follow the staircase across from the entrance until a Techeun is reached. Give the offering to the terminal the Techeun to earn the random piece of Dreaming City gear for the week. This can be done once per week per character.

Corrupted Eggs are scattered throughout the Dreaming City, and only 40 of them are available to find per account. Once an egg is broken it will not respawn. However, the only way to break a Corrupted Egg is with the Wish-Ender Exotic Bow, obtaining the quest from the Shattered Throne dungeon. These are the following locations for the eggs:

  • Nine eggs are in the Dreaming City patrol space
  • Nine eggs are in the Shattered Throne dungeon
  • Two eggs are in The Corrupted strike
  • Five eggs are in the Last Wish raid
  • Three eggs are in the first, fifth, and sixth weekly Ascendant Challenges
  • Two eggs are in the second, third, and fourth weekly Ascendant Challenges

Blind Well is an activity similar to the Altars of Sorrow on the Moon, requiring players to complete Tiers to finish the activity. Blind Well, however, only gives one Dreaming City gear piece per week per character if a Tier IV run is completed. Slot in a Tier III Charge of Light in the Oracle Engine to start the Tier IV run.

Nine Cat Statues are spread across the Dreaming City. Giving one of these statues a "Small Gift" will grant a Dreaming City item before despawning. Much like Corrupted Eggs, these cats are account locked and will not respawn.
