The Dawning has returned to Destiny 2 this Holiday week with a few new surprises in store. Players won't just be baking treats in Eva Levante's holiday oven and delivering them to all Destiny's NPC's. This year's Dawning brings two new (& semi-lengthy) quests. One quest, the 'Rite of Dawning,' will earn players weapons they may have missed out on in Dawnings past as well as random rolls dor Dawning weapons. The other quest, 'The Pigeon Provides,' will earn players the new legendary stasis sword, the 'Zephyr.' The Zephyr sword is the first stasis sword ever added to Destiny 2.
To start the Pigeon Provides questline, players will first have to complete the first mission in Destiny 2's Season of the Splicer, which places Saint-14 in the tower as an NPC. After doing so, head to Eva Levante in the middle of the tower to pick up the Pigeon Provides quest. The Pigeon Provides is a 10-step quest that can get a bit confusing at times due to the amount of "ingredients" players have to collect in certain areas, but it can be done quickly if they know where to look.
In true Dawning fashion, baking is, of course, involved in this quest, but players won't be collecting ingredients as they do for their other recipes. Instead, after talking to Eva, she'll send the player to Saint-14, who will then say that the player needs to find an Elinski treat recipe at a marked location on Europa. Before flying to Europa, players should pick up the snowball bounty from Eva, allowing them to earn 15 Dawning Spirit needed for the questline after getting 50 kills with Destiny 2's snowballs. Then, players can ly to the Eventide Ruins spawn point on Europa and head to the marked spot on the map to begin the Pigeon Provides questline.
Getting the Zephyr Sword in Destiny 2
After picking up the datapad in the Eventide ruins, the quest's next step will ask the player to collect Pure Ether Extract (Compeltye 3 lost sectors), 10 Harpy Eggs (obtained by killing Harpys), and 5 Glacial Starwort (Europas planetary material). These can be quickly collected in just three runs of the "Perdition" lost sector in Cadmus Ridge. Players will then need to collect 15 Dawning Spirit, which can quickly be done by picking up the 'kill enemies with snowballs' weekly bounty from Eva Levante. The next two steps can partially be done in Destiny 2's new 30th-anniversary activity but are totally random for each player. These two steps involve gathering certain ingredients from different sources, like collecting 'Ether Cane' from killing Fallen enemies or finding more planetary materials.
After collecting the ingredients, needed players will return to Saint-14, who will then give the final step in the quest, delivering treats to the Elinski in the Elinski quarters of the Helm. This is funny given Destiny 2's Season of the Splicer charter arcs for Saint-14 and the Elinski and brings it full circle. After delivering the treats, players will return to Saint-14, who finally sends you to Eva Levante to receive the curated roll for the legendary stasis Zephyr sword. Completing the Rite of Dawning quest allows players to spend 5 Dawning Spirit to get random sword rolls. Still, the curated roll is most likely the one players will want, as it has a new Stasis perk that slows down enemies and can be combined with the focusing lens mod on the Wayfinder seasonal artifact.
