Week 6 of Destiny 2's Season of the Haunted has arrived, bringing the continuation of the Bound in Sorrow questline. Players are able to experience the resolution of Caiatl's struggle with the Nightmare of Dominus Ghaul. While there have only been six parts to the story so far, much has happened to create concern for the future of humanity. The season opened with the return of the Leviathan, now plagued with Nightmares. Each week has Guardians seeking to sever Calus's newfound connection to the Pyramid.

Eris Morn, Commander Zavala, and Crow conducted a Binding Ritual, attaching a personal Nightmare to the two Guardians. This was done in the hope that pacifying these entities would prove fruitful to their cause. The first two parts had Crow coming to terms with his past identity, by completing Eris's Severance Ritual in the Underbelly of the Leviathan. Starting in week three and finishing in week four of Destiny 2's Bound in Sorrow, Commander Zavala faced his own personal Nightmare, Safiyah. Continuing the act of self-reflection conducted by Crow, Zavala needed to confront his tumultuous history. Last week, players found out that Empress Caiatl has been haunted by the Nightmare of Dominus Ghaul.

She sought to defeat the old self-proclaimed ruler of the Cabal alone. However, she inevitably failed without the help of Eris's Hive magic. This week, the Empress returns to the site of her failure with new resolve. She accepts help from Eris and the Guardian, participating in the Severance Ritual properly. To start the next part in the Bound in Sorrow questline, players must speak to Eris at the HELM and gain another Bound Presence. This is done by completing a tier-three Nightmare Containment in Destiny 2. Next, Guardians must join Caiatl and venture into the Underbelly of the Leviathan.

Destiny 2 Sever Resolve

Initiating the Sever-Resolve mission will put players back in the same location as the previous week. As before, Guardians must clear out the area and work their way to the ritual site. This time, however, the first electrical barrier is still disabled, but the second is reactivated. After speaking to Caiatl, players must drop down and turn right into the nearest doorway. Immediately to the right, there is an electrical fuse that needs to be shot. Further down, there is another hallway on the right that unseals the Immolation Hall. Guardians will need to have the Unrelenting Nightmare follow them into this area and quickly ignite the Immolation Hall, destroying the enemy. Heading further inside, players will need to fight the Nightmare of Dominus Ghaul, one last time.

After the mission, Guardians need to head to the HELM in Destiny 2 and listen to a private transmission from Caiatl, thanking them for their help. Eris will wish to speak at the Crown of Sorrows about the events of the third Severance Ritual. She ominously talks about a missing link in the plan to stop Calus. There is one final story segment in Season of the Haunted, yet there is still so much to unravel about the Emperor's connection to the Pyramid and the Witness.
