The Beloved Sniper Rifle is an Opulent weapon in Destiny 2 that has been reworked and rereleased for Season of the Haunted. The Opulent Menagerie set of weapons has made a return in Destiny 2, and while many of them have kept the majority of their perks and traits a few changes make them unique from their former editions. Despite the perk changes, however, the Beloved is still a Solar Energy Sniper Rifle with an Adaptive Frame, suited for both PvE and PvP activities with the right rolls.

Like the returning Austringer Hand Cannon in Destiny 2, players can get the weapon pattern to craft Beloved in addition to finding one with the right perks. The weapon pattern for Beloved can be unlocked only after players complete five Deepsight Resonance variations of the weapon, as is the case for all of the returning Opulent weapons. Fortunately, both the standard and Deepsight variations of the weapon can be earned from the same sources, though the Deepsight variations are a bit tougher to find randomly.

One of the ways that players can immediately get both variations of Beloved is by heading to the Derelict Leviathan and opening the Opulent Chests scattered across the ship. Opening the chests requires players to find Opulent Keys in Destiny 2, which can be earned by opening Destination Chests, Haunted Aclove Chests, and from Nightmare Containment Tier III rewards. Not every chest is guaranteed to reward Guardians with an Opulent Key, however, and they can only hold onto one at a time. As soon as players get their hands on one, they should inspect the key in their inventory to see where its corresponding chest is located. Additionally, with the right upgrades, players can focus Umbral Engrams at the Crown of Sorrow to get both variations of Beloved as well.

How To Get More Opulent Keys In Destiny 2

The Beloved Sniper Rifle has both gained and lost some perks in its rework, but the changes are arguably for the better. In the past, many players had preferred to use Beloved in PvP activities over PvE, but there are still some fantastic perk combinations for the latter. Whether players find or craft this weapon in Destiny 2, Season 17, both PvE and PvP rolls will benefit from Arrowhead Brake and Ricochet Rounds. PvE builds can get away with not having either, and PvP players could benefit from Corkscrew Rifling and Fluted Barrel instead of Arrowhead Brake. For the third and fourth column perks, players should seek the following options:

  • 1. Snapshot Sights/Quick Draw - The classic Beloved combination for PvP.
  • 2. Snapshot Sight/Moving Target - A great alternative to Quick Draw.
  • 3. Fourth Time's The Charm/Incandescent - This has the potential to be a great red bar clearing weapon in PvE.
  • 4. Enhanced Snapshot Sights/Incandescent - This combination remains to be tested but it definitely has potential for Solar PvP builds.
  • 5. Enhanced Fourth Time's The Charm/Enhanced Box Breathing - The rework for Beloved put Fourth Time's The Charm in the third column, giving players a chance to finally get this roll for PvE in Destiny 2: Season of the Haunted.
