The Aphelion's Rest Lost Sector can prove to be one of the more challenging activities to complete on Legend or Master in Destiny 2. Even with the right loadout, Guardians may find themselves frustrated at the constant bombardment of homing orbs fired off by the Taken Overload Champions. Without enough determination, patience, and class setup, players can successfully conquer this Lost Sector by themselves to earn Exotic armor.

Unlike the Exodus Garden 2A Lost Sector in Destiny 2, Aphelion's Rest has an active Stasis Burn that simultaneously increases the amount of Stasis damage Guardians will receive and deal by 50%. Both Master and Legend versions of this Lost Sector feature Limited Revives, Equipment Locked, Match Game, Champion Foes, Epitaph, and Shielded Foes modifiers as well. Epitaph spawns blight geysers when Taken combatants are defeated, and Shielded Foes adds Void Shields to some enemies.

Both the Master and Legend versions feature Overload and Unstoppable Champions, which are particularly challenging as Taken enemies. In Destiny 2, all Master Lost Sectors also include the Champions Mob modifiers, which spawn additional champions in Aphelion's Rest. Attrition is also active during the Master version, giving players impaired health regeneration unless they create wells of Light by defeating enemies at random.

The Guardian Character Stats in Destiny 2 will make a significant difference for this Lost Sector. Players should focus on increasing stats that improve class ability recharge, Discipline, and Intellect. There are plenty of Overload Champions on Master as well, making Overload Void Grenades and Lucent Finishers two of the most important mods to equip.

  • Lucent Finisher
  • Rocket Launcher Ammo Finder
  • Bountiful Wells
  • Elemental Ordnance (x3)
  • Stasis Resistance (x2)
  • Volatile Rounds
  • Overload Void Grenades
  • Overload Weapons Mod (Needed)
  • Unstoppable Hand Cannon or Pulse Rifle

During this Lost Sector, Guardians should consider using these weapons on a solo Legend or Master run.

  • Krait (Preference/Vorpal Weapon) or Syncopation-53 (Preference/Vorpal Weapon)
  • Void Hand Cannon (Preference), Void Pulse Rifle (Preference), Gnawing Hunger
  • Gjallarhorn, any Adaptive Frame Rocket Launcher (Vorpal Weapon or Lasting Impression)
  • Substitutes: Funnelweb, Shayura's Wrath, Forensic Nightmare, Palmyra-B
  • Exotic Alternatives: Graviton Lance, Collective Obligation, Osteo Striga

Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks need Void 3.0 builds in Destiny 2 for the Aphelion's Rest Lost Sector.

  • Warlock - Nove Bomb: Cataclysm with Eye of Another World or Contraverse Hold
  • Titan - Word of Dawn with Helm of Saint-14 or Heart of Inmost Light
  • Hunter - Shadowshot: Moebius Quiver with Orpheus Rig, Graviton Forfeit, or FR0ST-EE5
  • Aspects & Fragments - Echo of Obscurity
  • Grenade - Vortex, Suppressor, or Axion Bolts
  • Class Ability - Preference

Despite the Stasis Burn for this Lost Sector, Void 3.0 builds are better for Legend and Master runs of Aphelion's Rest simply because there is a large number of Overload Champions at a distance that can be stunned with Void Grenades. Instead, players should use a Stasis weapon in their Kinetic slot to make the most of the damage increase, preferably Krait because it can stun Overload Champions as well. After stunning them, a Gjallarhorn Rocket Launcher with its Catalyst can make quick work of the Overloads. Finishing the Unstoppable Champions and single Overload Champions will generate more heavy ammo, as well as the Rocket Launcher ammo finder mod. A Void Hand Cannon or Pulse Rifle can take advantage of the Void wells created by Elemental Ordnance and Bountiful Wells with the Volatile Rounds mod, allowing players to quickly eliminate the Taken Sions that split into more troops constantly.
