The members of the Destination Fear crew are some of the most popular up-and-coming paranormal investigators on television. Their ability to choose a great haunted location and muster up the gall to sleep alone in different sites naturally yields a lot of compelling evidence of the supernatural.

The crew is armed with plenty of equipment to give viewers a glimpse into the paranormal, from high-powered night vision cameras to devices that allow spirits to use their electromagnetic energy to produce words. Whether they are engaging these devices or simply keeping their eyes and ears open in real time, the Destination Fear team has earned some compelling evidence of life after death.

Scream At Sweet Springs

In the first season, the team spends the night at Sweet Springs Sanatorium in West Virginia. The former sanatorium is also the site of a Native American massacre, and the location packs a paranormal punch.

Before going to bed, the group splits up. Alex and Tanner investigate the third floor, while Dakota and Chelsea take the basement. Yet, when a ghostly scream permeates through the air, both parties and the audience hear it loud and clear. The scream sounds like a woman in anguish, and it is enough to send a shiver down anyone's spine.

Speaking With Carol

Three ghost hunters stand in a field by an overpass from Destination Fear

In the show's second season, the whole crew travels back to their home state to check out the ever-feared Nopeming Sanatorium of Minnesota.

When the group splits up, Chelsea and Dakota receive the woman's name, "Carol," through the Ovilus. Tanner and Alex take over at the location, and they, too, receive the same name on the Ovilus. When they ask her about her connection to the building, the Ovilus responds with "Killed." The consistency in the Ovilus messages is very compelling, and part of what makes Destination Fear one of the best shows like Ghost Hunters.

Tanner's Phone Call

Trans-Alleghany Lunatic Asylum is an utterly terrifying journey for the team. Tanner brings the crew to this location in the second season, warning them with the packet that over 20,000 deaths had occurred on site.

Tanner leaves his cell phone in the gear room, and somehow, Alex receives multiple calls from it. One of these calls includes inhuman shrieking on the other side. When the crew goes back to check on Tanner's phone, the battery is drained. The whole interaction is so terrifying that it feels like it belongs in a phone horror movie.

Shadow at Saratoga

Dakota at Saratoga County Holmstead in Destination Fear

Saratoga County Holmstead is an abandoned tuberculosis sanatorium that sits on a hill in upstate New York. It is also the site of some compelling evidence for the Destination Fear crew.

While investigating, the squad catches a shadow that darts across the screen. The humanoid shadow is very realistic, and replays confirm that it is not a random object or living person. Shadows are always an effective sign of the paranormal, and they even make up some of the greatest pieces of evidence on the fellow ghost hunting series, Ghost Adventures.

Thermal Camera Catch

A young man outside of Yorktown Memorial Hospital in Destination Fear

In season 3, Alex surprises the crew by bringing them to the previously uninvestigated Indiana State Sanatorium, which is undoubtedly one of the scariest locations on Destination Fear thus far.

While using a thermal camera outdoors, Tanner catches a humanoid figure walking past the window of one of the buildings. The coolest part about this figure is that it is the first-ever piece of evidence to confirm that the sanatorium is haunted, as in fact, not a single paranormal investigator had been inside before Destination Fear.

Dakota Gets Scratched

In the latter half of their first road trip, the Destination Fear crew stops at the West Virginia State Penitentiary, a prison that used to be one of the ten most violent prisons in America.

While sitting in a cell, one of the worst things that could happen to a paranormal investigator occurs. Dakota is physically attacked by an entity that leaves visible scratches on his back. It is not difficult for the audience to sense that the crew is genuinely shaken up by the series of events that leads Dakota to pull up his shirt and reveal the scratches.

The "Hello" in Randolph County

Chelsea Laden in Destination Fear

In the second season of the show, the crew heads to Randolph County Infirmary in Winchester, Indiana, where they will come face to face with a dark entity whose existence has scared Tanner for five years.

While attempting to communicate with a spirit, Chelsea hears a very clear and haunting "hello" with her own ears. The camera picks up the audio evidence perfectly, allowing the audience to clearly hear the greeting that seems to be in a woman's voice. The entire crew gets a taste of Chelsea's initial fear when they all hear a similar voice while attempting to comfort her. Destination Fear has featured some seriously scary evidence thus far, but this is one of the most striking audio clips in the series.
