Designer Unveils Cover for The Art of Captain Marvel Book

Brie Larson as Captain Marvel eyes

The cover for the upcoming book Marvel’s Captain Marvel: The Art of the Movie has been revealed. Captain Marvel will be the overall 21st entry to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but is also a significant movie since it will introduce a hero that has never been seen on the big screen before. Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers and will be directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.

The character Captain Marvel was hinted at during the end-credits scene for Avengers: Infinity War as Nick Fury turned to dust, which leads many to believe that the hero will play a big role in undoing Thanos' destruction. While Avengers: Endgame will take place in present day, Captain Marvel will take viewers back to 1995 to see the origin of a new hero. The newest MCU film will be based on Kelly Sue DeConnick's comic book run and will not only show Danvers beginnings, but show her trying to end the Kree-Skrull war. Now that the film is inching closer to its release, the art behind the movie has been revealed in a new book.

Posting on his Twitter account, artist Andy Park has revealed his cover for Marvel’s Captain Marvel: The Art of the Movie. This hardcover book is currently available for pre-order and is the latest entry for Marvel Studios' hardcover books that brings together a collection of sketches and concept art that inspired the movie. Park's artwork can be seen below:

Since Captain Marvel will be released in a few months, now is a prime time for Disney to be promoting their upcoming film. The film has already gotten colorful trailers and unique posters, but Disney has also begun to release Captain Marvel merchandise that people can actually purchase and bring home. Some of this merchandise includes dolls and action figures - one of which suggested that Jude Law is actually playing Yon-Rogg.

Marvel Studios has released books like this in the past with several of their movies, including Avengers: Infinity War and Ant-Man & The Wasp. The books often give fans a behind-the-scenes look at Marvel films and reveal information that fans otherwise would have never known. And, even though this Captain Marvel book will be more expensive than the average action figure or toy, die-hard Marvel fans will no doubt shell out the necessary funds to get their hands on it.
