As part of its next-gen presentation today, PlayStation shared a nearly five-minute-long Demon's Souls gameplay trailer showcasing some of the most stunning visuals to be displayed for a console title. As noted before the show began, the gameplay was being run on a PlayStation 5 system, which gives high hopes for what other games can deliver. The player character is shown traipsing around ruined landscapes, striking down its feral inhabitants and collecting their souls for later use. While the character's combat skills are less than impressive, the graphical quality of the gameplay is nothing to snark at. Souls games are known for their remarkable worlds and larger-than-life bosses, now rendered with the visual prowess they deserve.

While not mentioned in the trailer, Demon's Souls was confirmed as a PS5 launch title. Players can pick up a copy of Demon's Souls with their PS5 when both release on November 12th. This means that players only have a few months to perfect their dodge rolls before dying again and again to the cruel hands of Demon's Souls' many bosses.

While many Souls fans have been anticipating the ever-elusive Elden Ring, Demon's Souls looks hearty enough to hold players over. Plus, With Demon's Souls being a remake instead of a remaster, the game will be a completely new experience outside of its storyline. It might be be quite as exciting as an entirely new From Software title, but it's still one of the most anticipated games in the PS5's launch lineup.
