A new trailer has been released for the highly anticipated Demon’s Souls remake, showing off the almighty power of the PlayStation 5. With a comparison video already highlighting the differences between the original release and the remastered edition of Demon’s Souls, this new footage will further increase the excitement for the PlayStation 5 exclusive.

The remake of Demon’s Souls was first announced by PlayStation during its reveal event in June. Notorious for not having made the transition to PS4 or to PC, the news that Demon’s Souls would be coming as a release title for the coveted PlayStation 5 was met with huge praise from fans of the original. Despite being incredibly hard to finish it has maintained a strong fanbase in the years since its original release in 2009. It is the title that spawned even more successful – and equally punishing – titles in the Souls series.

In the second gameplay trailer released by PlayStation, fans are transported to Stonefang – one of the five realms within Demon’s Souls’ Boletaria. Viewers are taken deep underground to where cursed miners relentlessly forage for ancient dragon bones, while the brave adventurer advances through the clouds of Deep Fog. Unlike the previously released gameplay trailer, where the action took place towards the very start of the game, this trailer takes fans further into the storyline. A simple sword and shield are not enough for the future Slayer of Demons to protect himself against the foes he encounters in the molten pits beneath the earth.

Fans of the original will remember the horrifying and mighty Flamelurker, and now they will be able to relive this nightmare again. This monstrosity can be seen once more in the newly released footage, which confirms that this adversary is every bit as deadly as his previous incarnation, and even more ungodly in all his next-gen glory. Arachnophobes out there should proceed with caution, as the Armored Spider also has its PS5 reveal in the newly released clip.

Despite how great the game looks, PlayStation had to do some back peddling recently after accidentally announcing that Demon’s Souls would be available to purchase for the PC. Alas, this is not the case. The release of this title will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive at the release of the next-gen console next month. Fans of the original will no doubt be itching to get their hands on the remake of Demon’s Souls. With only a couple of more weeks to go, there is not much longer to wait. Until then, the newly released footage will keep the hype high for this beloved and gory classic.
