Demon Slayer season 2 is officially a go. The immensely popular manga was adapted into an anime in 2019 to rave reviews. Season 1 introduced Tanjiro Kamado, a boy whose world is changed forever after his family is killed by a demon. However, his sister actually survived, but as a transformed demon herself. From there, the season covers everything from Tanjiro meeting Giyū, to Rehabilitation Training.

It's not difficult to see why the Demon Slayer anime is big. Despite there having been quite a few stories revolving around the concept of demon hunting, Demon Slayer manages to make itself stand out with its emphasis on the sibling relationship between Tanjiro and Nezuko. There's also the character backstories of both the heroes and villains, as well as the intense action scenes. Perhaps its no surprise a cinematic format was chosen for the anime's adaption of the popular Mugen Train storyline. Instead of an episode format for the arc, the story was presented as a film. The decision paid off in spades. Demon Slayer the Movie: Mugen Train crushed the Japanese box office as the highest-grossing film in the country. Its English release is coming soon.

Fans have been waiting for news on the next Demon Slayer anime saga. The Demon Slayer Twitter officially announced season 2, and it's releasing in 2021. Season 2 will cover the storyline known as the Entertainment District Arc.

In addition to the announcement, a teaser trailer was unveiled, giving fans a peak at what to expect. The Entertainment District Arc is another memorable Demon Slayer storyline. The plot has the characters infiltrate a district. The story teams Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke with Tengen Uzui, who is the Hashira on the poster. The Entertainment District Arc has excellent plotting and a very engaging climax. Based on the footage so far, Demon Slayer season 2 should be another big hit.

It will be interesting seeing what else season 2 will adapt. Season 1 adapted over 50 chapters of the manga. With the Entertainment District Arc being 29 chapters, that should leave room for more content if season 2 has a 26 episode count like its predecessor. Demon Slayer season 2's episode count has not been revealed yet, however. No matter what, fans should be in for a treat. 2021 looks to be a good year for the franchise. In addition to the new season, Demon Slayer is also receiving its first console video game. The Demon Slayer manga may have ended, but its popularity isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
