Warning: SPOILERS for My Hero Academia Season 6 episode #134Deku uses a combination of his Quirks to defeat Lady Nagant in the latest episode of My Hero Academia, which shows that his best qualities as a hero don't come from the incredible powers of One For All, but from the analytical mind he developed when he was still a Quirkless fanboy.

In episode #134 of My Hero Academia, Deku is fighting a hard battle against Lady Nagant, a former pro hero turned villain who has been hired by All For One to capture Midoriya. Nagant is the best sniper in the country, and she is firing her deadly bullets at Deku from a safe distance. To close the gap, Deku combines several of the One For All Quirks that he has unlocked. First, he puts up a huge smoke curtain using Smokescreen. Then, he uses Black Whip to throw out decoys from the smoke and figure out Lady Nagant's position. Finally, using his most recent Quirk, Fa Jin, Deku pushes his speed over the limit and smashes through an entire building, catching Nagant by surprise.

Deku's Analytical Mind Lets Him Combine His Quirks In The Best Way

Later in the episode, Deku will combine his Quirks again in a different way to reach "Faux 100%" of the One For All power. At this point in the series, the most powerful characters (Deku, Shigaraki, All For One) all rely on using multiple Quirks in battle, so being able to combine and coordinate their correct use is fundamental. Deku is still learning how to do it properly because he has only recently unlocked all the Quirks of the previous One For All users. However, he has an advantage that comes from the time when he was still a Quirkless boy dreaming of becoming a hero.

Midoriya was, and still is, a huge hero nerd, who collected data and information on the Pro Heroes, including their Quirks and Ultimate Moves, in a series of notebooks. Thanks to years of this practice, Deku has developed a sharp analytical mind and can quickly form complex plans even in the heat of battle, figuring out the best ways to utilize his Quirks or those of his allies. This ability comes out during the battle against Lady Nagant, who is a seasoned assassin that set up the perfect battlefield to her advantage. Still, Deku's quick analytical thinking lets him utilize the range of powers at his disposal in the best possible way, which makes him suited to be the successor of One For All.

Deku's Time As A Quirkless Boy Makes Him The Best Possible Hero

Deku's battle against Lady Nagant shows how, despite having one of the most powerful Quirks in the world, One For All, Izuku's best hero qualities were developed when he was a powerless kid who spent his days taking notes about the Pro Heroes. This is a powerful message that My Hero Academia delivers through its protagonist, Deku, who never gave up chasing his "impossible" dream.
