The Defending Jacob trailer has been released for the dramatic new Apple TV+ limited series starring Chris Evans. Evans, who was recently in talks to star in the remake of Little Shop of Horrors, was last seen in Knives Out, the Agatha Christie-style whodunnit from director Rian Johnson that hit theaters last November. Evans is joined by his Knives Out co-star Jaeden Martell in Defending Jacob.

Apple has unveiled a brand new trailer for Defending Jacob on their YouTube. The show, which premieres April 24th on the streaming platform, follows the story of an assistant district attorney in Massachusetts whose whole life is turned upside down when his 14-year-old son is accused of murdering a classmate. As evidence begins to pile up, he decides to take the case into his own hands in order to protect his son. The trailer and poster are below.

Defending Jacob is based on a 2012 novel of the same name by author William Landay. Screenwriter Mark Bomback has adapted the novel with Evans serving as an executive producer on the show. Rounding out the impressive cast for the series is Cherry Jones, Michelle Dockery, Pablo Schreiber, Betty Gabriel, and J.K. Simmons. The show will be joining the formidable Apple TV+ lineup that includes notable hits like The Morning Show, For All Mankind, See, Servant, Dickinson Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet and their new revival of Amazing Stories from Steven Spielberg . The series will consist of eight episodes on the platform and will premiere its first three episodes on April 24th. The remaining episodes will be available each Friday that follows, typical for the platform.
