With Iron Fist now on Netflix, the stage is set for all of Marvel's street-level heroes to join forces this summer in The Defenders. While we still don't know much regarding the plot, it's clear that the events of Iron Fist will help to kick off the team-up show. Though The Avengers has accomplished a similar feat in theaters multiple times, The Defenders will still be pretty groundbreaking for superhero TV. DC's Arrowverse has featured a number of crossovers, but The Defenders will allow the many heroes of Marvel's Netflix universe a complete arc to explore their dynamic and set up future seasons of the character's respective shows.
Thanks to the series filming on the streets of New York, we've been given a lot of unofficial looks at the show while we await a proper trailer from Marvel. Thanks to a couple of set videos, we know the Defenders will be on the run from something requiring a green screen, and will need to break a few laws to deal with the threat they're facing. And despite the fact that filming has already wrapped, images from the set keep popping up online.

Though Luke's relationship with Jessica Jones in the comics is what most fans think of when they imagine him in a partnership, the Hero of Harlem has dated plenty of characters on the page. One of his earliest pairings was with Dr. Claire Temple, who showed up in his life while he was battling Diamondback—the man who framed him and got him sent to jail. As such, much of Claire and Luke's coupling in the first season of Luke Cage was a natural extension of what's gone down in the comics. And given that Iron Fist showed Claire is still carrying a torch for Luke, it makes sense that their next adventure together would continue the relationship. It's also good to know that despite the insanity of the team-up, the two heroes will have a chance for some down time.
Luke and Claire won't be the only pairing we'll see on screen. Thanks to some set photos a few months back, we know Daredevil and Jessica will be combining their investigative skills at some point to track down a lead. Given their two personalities, it should be a blast to watch them trade quips while snooping around. And since the show is on the verge of premiering, we're getting new bits of behind-the-scenes looks everyday, like the recent reveal of a possible new logo. Expect a trailer or poster to be right around the corner, or better yet, a premiere date.
The Defenders will arrive sometime in the summer, with The Punisher coming later this year. Daredevil seasons 1 and 2, Jessica Jones season 1, Luke Cage season 1, and Iron Fist season 1 are now available on Netflix. Premiere dates for the newest seasons of Jessica Jones, Daredevil, and Luke Cage have not yet been revealed.
