Marvel and Netflix have come a long way in their third year as partners. Gone are the days of a mere two original shows a year, with 2017 set to bring the first season of Iron Fist in March, Jon Bernthal's The Punisher spinoff, and the highly anticipated crossover The Defenders. The eight episode mini-series will assemble seemingly every character from the Hell's Kitchen corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to stop Sigourney Weaver's mysterious Alexandra.

Since production began, set photos have given fans a glimpse at the pairings that will take place throughout the show. There have been the unsurprising pairings - like Luke Cage and Claire Temple; Danny Rand and Colleen Wing; Jessica Jones and Trish Walker; or Luke back together with Jessica or Misty Knight- but also first time encounters between Misty and Jessica and Matt Murdock and Jessica. The latter are back together again in the latest set photos, pairing together the P.I. and a lawyer.

Getty Images has released a batch of new photos from set of Matt and Jessica together. The context of the photos is not clear, but the investigative power between the two could indicate both using their professional contacts and access to help further their learning about Alexandra. It's possible that the house they are visiting in the photos could be linked to her.

The photos themselves continue the tradition of Marvel and Netflix running a tight ship in production. In almost every instance, any big moments have not been revealed in these photos, and instead mainly just focus on characters walking and talking just like these. The Daredevil/Jessica pairing makes sense with their abilities to gather information, but also could suggest time together for Luke and Danny that has so far not been seen.

Surely these photos would be more exciting if Charlie Cox was in the Daredevil suit readying to battle as opposed to Matt's everyday attire, but it should also be appreciated that these big, climactic moments do not leak. The lone exception could be the final battle in Luke Cage between Diamondback and Luke that had photos surface months after it was filmed, but even then the context wasn't clear until the show had come out.

Production on The Defenders should be winding down in the next few weeks, meaning there should not be many more opportunities to see glimpses of what is in store. However, once Iron Fist is out, it will be Defenders that continues to hold the spotlight ahead of its summer release.

Daredevil Season 1 and 2, Jessica Jones Season 1, and Luke Cage Season 1 are now available on Netflix. Iron Fist will premiere on March 17, 2017. The Defenders will arrive this summer with The Punisher coming later in the year. Premiere dates for the newest seasons of Jessica Jones, Daredevil, and Luke Cage have not yet been announced.
