The Defenders aren't lucky enough to have hi-tech transportation, which means sometimes leaving and arriving to a fight in less style, such as an elevator. The eventual formation of a Hell's Kitchen based super team has been in the works since their partnership became official back in 2013. Since that point they've introduced four heroes in their respective solo series, but Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Iron Fist (Finn Jones), Daredevil (Charlie Cox), and Luke Cage (Mike Colter) will finally cross paths later this year.

It's been a long time coming and fans interested in devouring all their shows have by now sat through 60 episodes, all of which have been leading to the eight episode mini-series. The Defenders is now the next show up for Marvel and Netflix and after kicking off the marketing campaign a few weeks ago, a new team photo has the heroes together in an elevator.

Empire released a new still from The Defenders that brings the team together in a familiar setting. The elevator and the subsequent sequence has been a staple of the marketing to this point, and it continues to be that way with the (newly formed?) team arriving for battle.

The elevator was first used to announce the release date of the series, with Jessica punching out the security camera inside. Since then, what follows this elevator ride has continued to be shown. The first trailer spends a good amount of time focusing on the team's battle with ninjas and Elektra in a hallway. They are all in the same clothes as shown here, with Matt's use of Jessica's scarf being one of the clearest indicators. It is unclear how quickly this sequence will happen or if its their first true time working as a team, but they're definitely ready for a fight.

While the trailer shows Elektra as being one of the enemies they'll face in this sequence, it is also plausible that Sigourney Weaver's Alexandra will be in this building as well. They've yet to show any hint towards Alexandra getting her hands dirty, which could be where Madame Gao could come into play. How the newly formed team is able to stop the latest threat to Hell's Kitchen remains to be seen, but they will undoubtedly have their hands full. If things get too testy, it could open the door for Stick, Claire Temple, Trish Walker, and/or Misty Knight to join this fight as well. But for now, these are the only four Defenders Hell's Kitchen has, so they better not fail.
