Netflix's corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe kicked off early last year with the premiere of Daredevil. Starring Charlie Cox, the series introduced fans to the crime-riddled streets of Hell's Kitchen, New York City -- and those who would mean to save it, including Matt Murdock aka Daredevil (Charlie Cox). Season 1 of the series was followed late last year by the debut of Jessica Jones, then 2016 delivered season 2 of Daredevil and, more recently, Luke Cage. Next year, Netflix is set to deliver three Marvel series: Iron Fist in March, Daredevil spinoff The Punisher, and the limited team-up series The Defenders.

The Defenders will unite all four heroes from Netflix's main Marvel series: Daredevil, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Danny Rand aka Iron Fist (Finn Jones). The team-up series has already begun filming in New York City and all this week Marvel has revealed which supporting characters from the Netflix series will additionally be joining the fight. Now, the latest casting confirmation comes from Netflix's upcoming Marvel series.

The Defenders Twitter account posted a new video confirming the appearance of Iron Fist co-star Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing. The video uses a shot from Colleen Wing's fight scene that appeared in the New York Comic Con trailer (and from an extended scene that screened during the panel), along with The Defenders' tagline: "Those who surround us, defend us." Take a look at the video:

In addition to Colleen Wing, The Defenders will feature Luke Cage's Misty Knight (Simone Missick); Daredevil's Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), and Stick (Scott Glenn); and Jessica Jones' Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor), Malcolm Ducasse (Eka Darville), and Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss). Additionally, Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) -- who has appeared in all of Marvel's Netflix series -- will return for The Defenders, which will feature an as yet unrevealed villain played by Sigourney Weaver.

Filming began earlier this week on The Defenders, with Ritter being seen in costume as Jessica Jones on set, then the actress was joined by Missick as Misty Knight for a not-quite-friendly meeting between the two characters. Marvel announced last week that Jessica Jones' director S.J. Clarkson will helm the first two episodes of The Defenders, though it's unclear who will direct the remaining six episodes.

Now, with the addition of Henwick as Colleen Wing, The Defenders is boasting a robust supporting cast, combining key allies from all four of Marvel's Netflix series in the superhero team-up. It remains to be seen how big of a role Colleen Wing -- or the other supporting characters -- will play in The Defenders, or how Weaver's villain will necessitate the inclusion of all heroes' allies. But, considering the praise from critics and fans that Marvel's Netflix series have received thus far, it's likely The Defenders will come together as another compelling and exciting street-level superhero adventure.
